Democrat Congressional Leader: Caught Lying

Post by Marty »

August 31, 2009, 04:47 PM

What to find corruption? Find an Obama Democrat in Washington. Between the tax cheats in the Administration and the tax cheats in the Congress, Democrats have proven not to be worthy of our trust or to be in a leadership position.

Obama openly lies about his health care bill.

Harry Reid wants the leading newspaper in Nevada to go bankrupt.

Charlie Rangel is the Democrat in charge of writing our tax laws--and he is a cheat. "Its the same old story for Rangel, who last year reluctantly acknowledged what he described as an inadvertent failure to report $75,000 in rental income for a beachfront property in the Dominican Republic. Then, many critics called on him to step down from his chairmanship, at least until his professed innocence could be established. He didn’t."

"It gets worse: Newly-filed disclosures show that Rangel failed to report at least half a million dollars in assets in 2007. They also show that his net worth is between $1 million and $2.5 million, or about twice what he claimed in 2008." He is a liar and a cheat.

Why hasn't Obama fired him? It could be he likes Rangel style!

Marty, you should bow to this man and worship him for your freedom and your rights to bash him.

Rangel then enlisted in the United States Army, and served from 1948 to 1952.During the Korean War, he was a member of the all-black 503rd Field Artillery Battalion in the 2nd Infantry Division. In late November 1950, this unit was caught up in heavy fighting in North Korea as part of the U.N. forces retreat from the Yalu River. In the Battle of Kunu-Ri, Rangel was part of a vehicle column that was trapped and attacked by the Chinese Army. In the subzero cold, Rangel was injured by shrapnel from a Chinese shell. Some U.S. soldiers were being taken prisoner, but others looked to Rangel, who though only a private first class had a reputation for leadership in the unit. Rangel led some 40 men from his unit, during three days of freezing weather, out of the Chinese encirclement; nearly half of the battalion was killed in the overall battle. Rangel was awarded a Purple Heart for his wounds and the Bronze Star with Valor for his actions in the face of death. He was also awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, and three battle stars. In 2000, Rangel reflected with CBS News that "Since Kunu Ri – and I mean it with all my heart, I have never, never had a bad day."

LOL – that does not eradicate that he was caught lying and that he is still a cheat – I can’t believe you would support a person like this, it shows your true character. No matter what side of the table you sit – wrong is wrong. Are you so blinded by your Ideological belief that you will allow liars and cheaters to run our Government?

You never did answer if you support California Democratic Rep. Diane Watson and her worship for Fidel Castro?

I guess you also support Well Eric Holder, Mark Llyod, and Van Jones?

If I told you that Paul Stanley was caught having an affair with a winsome young blond girl, you probably wouldn't be shocked. Of course, you'd probably be thinking I was talking about the lead singer of KISS. If I told you that Paul Stanley was a God-fearing and gay-hating family values Republican state senator from Tennessee, you'd probably be even less shocked. Par for the course these days, isn't it?

The young girl, McKensie Morrison, was a legislative intern in Stanley's office when the married senator with two children started doing the mattress mambo with her. She's now 22 years old and was, obviously, even younger when this all began. Stanley went to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation to report he was being blackmailed by Morrison's boyfriend -- then admitted to them that he was having an affair with her.

Oh, you might wanna set your irony meters for their highest possible level (which is "Bill O'Reilly" on mine):

"When you're married, there's a commitment there," Stanley said last year, while discussing legislation to prohibit gay people from adopting children.

In fact, Stanley was the bill's chief sponsor and he introduced the bill in the legislature. And a few days ago he issued a statement saying that it was unfair to speculate that he might have cheated with the young lady because he was the real victim here:

Unfortunately, I am the victim and a witness to a crime in an ongoing investigation. At this time, I have been advised by authorities and the District Attorney's office not to comment. There is already misinformation being inferred regarding this matter which I look forward to clearing up at the appropriate time.

But then the local media got a copy of the affidavit from the investigating officer in the case, which notes that Stanley admitting not only to a sexual relationship with her, but to taking some apparently explicit pictures of her:

During an interview with Stanley, he advised Morrison was an intern in his legislative office. Stanley subsequently advised he had developed a sexual relationship with Morrison, during her internship. During the interview, Stanley acknowledged taking a photograph(s) of Morrison in Stanley's apartment.

The punchline: Republicans are actually breathing a sigh of relief after finding out he was cheating with a woman and not a man.

Tax evasion Republican style
Kellogg Brown & Root, the nation's top Iraq war contractor and until last year a subsidiary of Halliburton Corp., has avoided paying hundreds of millions of dollars in federal Medicare and Social Security taxes by hiring workers through shell companies based in this tropical tax haven.

More than 21,000 people working for KBR in Iraq - including about 10,500 Americans - are listed as employees of two companies that exist in a computer file on the fourth floor of a building on a palm-studded boulevard here in the Caribbean. Neither company has an office or phone number in the Cayman Islands.

The Defense Department has known since at least 2004 that KBR was avoiding taxes by declaring its American workers as employees of Cayman Islands shell companies, and officials said the move allowed KBR to perform the work more cheaply, saving Defense dollars.

But the use of the loophole results in a significantly greater loss of revenue to the government as a whole, particularly to the Social Security and Medicare trust funds.
All very simple, you don't cheat on your own taxes, your CPA will find a way for you to pay less in taxes than your secretary. No, you screw your employees out of their future benefits by pretending they work for a foreign company, then pay yourself based on the juiced up profits those unpaid tax dollars appear to be. And along the way you help make Medicare and Social Security look bad. The free market hand of Dick Cheney

Greg it would be easier to ask what Republicans I would not vote for then the worst two. The only one I would vote for at this time would be Tom McClintock (there may be some good ones in other States that I don’t know about). But a good rule of thump for me this upcoming election is I will not be voting for one single incumbent and I don’t care what side of the table they are on.

We need to send a message to them they work for us and not the other way around. I have been trying to think of some way of taking the money out of running for Office. It just pisses me off they go to Washington broke and come out rich.

Off on a tangent here!

If I had the power not one politician (to include the President) would receive more pay then our military, receive better health care then our military, and dare sure not a better retirement then our military. If our women and men (please note I put women first) of this Nation can serve their country for what they are getting now, then why not politician.

Done with my rant – can I get amen!

To quote Ann Coulter "There are many bad Republicans. There are no good Democrats."

To quote Dan McKenzie "Take your time scouring the internet for your next cut and paste response."

Tell me you didn't cut and paste from the Daily Kos. Is that where you get your fair and balanced news?

That's brilliant, for all of us know what a fine upstanding entertainer Coulter is. And if you actually find yourself listening to and believing what she says, well let's just say you won't be mistaken for a Rhodes scholar anytime soon.

Of course I don't keep a list of loser republicans compiled, but I can also write my own words, which apparently for some is harder than it is for others. And then some others would have you believe what they copied and pasted are their own words.

What's your point anyhow? Do you want to stand up and defend Marty? How galliant of you to run to his defense.

I quoted Ann Coulter because I thought that was a good line and didn't want to steal it. My point was to show your hypocrisy, if I have to explain it to you. You seem to have issues with other people cutting and pasting but then do it yourself and not reveal the source. As for Marty needing defending is laughable. He is a big boy and can take care of himself.

I think you guys do a good enough job turning rocks over and finding them, it would just be redundant for me to list them too.

Hyprocisy-now thats a stretch. I realize everyone, or should I say most do so from time to time and I don't have a problem with it per se. But if cut and paste is essentially the bulk of your posting then I take issue with it.

100% correct. Democrats push issues that benefit their financial supporters and so do Republicans. Both parties take up issues and sell uninformed people on their agenda. You have to wade through a stream of BS from both parties to get the truth in any issue (which is small details no one talks about). People want soundbites today, not concepts. Political consultants figure out how to wrap complex issues into a catchy one sentence soundbite to sway people one way or the other. They use focus groups to determine effective catch phrases. Newspapers buy all of their news from the same sources as the Cable TV news, and we're all too busy to read all of the details. I don't trust either party to look out for me, it's way too risky with all of the money in the politics business these days.

I'm just happy fishermen don't lie.
