I have an article you should read. It was in the Bass Anglers Guide Vol 17 issue 2 2008. Justin Lucas talks about winning from the back deck. He fished the NG series as an AM back then. I found it as I write this to you. Below is the link then some of my experience having fished as a am quite a bit.

Limit your rods and tackle as Justin said. This keeps you organized and keeps you from having tackle in the way or your bag in the way. Respect your pro and his fish. Sometimes it can be hard to gauge what type of guy your pro is. Some will want to talk and or joke around some won't. So I usually let them start the conversation and or any joking around. If you are unsure if your boater will be upset by something you do. Only bring beverages that have a cap and always always always put it back on. If you have scents be careful not to get them all over ... smelly jelly NEVER comes out.

I limit my tackle to bassmaster co angler rules 6 rods and reels, one large or two small bags ( I have a medium size falcon bag and a small worm speed bag. I also try to bring my own balance beam or scale culling bobbers (If you or he gets a monster you may have to share livewells plus they help to get the fish out for weigh in time) and I keep a multi tool in my pocket for removing hooks cutting line etc. Most guys out there are great guys and will even share tackle with ya. Hope some of this random thinking on what I do helps ya out. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at t.atkeson@hotmail.com or send me a PM
