I really like some of the list like Gary Dobyn's, Randy Macabee, Mike Long, Dee Thomas, and Cody Meyer.

But, Bill Siemental .....really. Have you read his book or dvd?

He may indeed catch big fish, and even win a tournament or two..I certainly couldn't fish as well...but his "system" is half stolen, and the other half junk fishing at best.

please read an older book called In pursuit of giant bass by murphy....

The most I can say for siemental is that he is a cheerleader for trophy bass fishing....and thats cool....but his system...ugh.

How is skeet not #1, I guess winning the CLASSIC, the frickin CLASSIC and runner up in AOY is easy compared to what Brent did????????

That should have been an easy call, How many other western pro's have won the CLASSIC?? 1,2 maybe 3...

OMG acm ! -- I take it you have never "personally" met or spent time with Mr. Siemental ? If you could spend just an hour with Mr. Siemental -- Your tone would change a 180 !

The family and I had the extream pleasure to spend three days in a row with him talking to DeltaLuke. Bill is a Lover of being a Giver !! He is a Protector of all in his line of work - HIS MIND IS INCREDIBLE when you just STFU and sit there and listen to him. Both in Finesse fishing and Big Bait fishing.

He won another boat last year at CL for the ABA TOC by spanking the field, Spanked the field on this day as well on Castaic after he worked it for two days looking for the "Big Bite" -- and he only had 7 bites total that day.

Before you or anyone on her can poke holes on this list .... First realize that your name ain't on it.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

No disrespect intended. Matt Allen catches a lot of big fish, but ranked a spot ahead of Mike Long? Is this list a joke? I mean c'mon Mike Long is the best trophy bass fisherman in the world!

The most I can say for Bill Siemental is he's only one of the best bass anglers we've got, West or anywhere. Some guys simply shouldn't leave the Top 40 list for nearly any reason and Bill is one of them. He'd be on my top ten list every year.

I'm not a fan of numbering things but I don't have problems with any of the guys on that list. All are damned fine anglers.

That is a tough list. If I recall Brent and Skeet have been flipflopped on there a few times. Only way to settle the arguement of who is better is to get Brent in BASS. Someday maybe. Both are worthy of the top spot and great family men also. Rick G.

I am a fan of Brent and think he is an awesome fisherman and one of the best representatives of the West we could ask for but with that being said any top forty list that puts a guy that beats KVD at the end of eight events, finishes second in the Angler of the Week contest and can sit down and touch the Bassmasters Classic trophy from his couch and he is the only resident of California that can make that claim.in second has something wrong...............Skeet should be number one no doubt. George does this to hear us all yell anyway and who knows maybe he forgot that Skeet won the Classic

Yea not sure how you can keep RJ of the list he won the AC Pro Am Angler of the Year and had a good showing in the NG events. I don't think I would have had Zack down quite that far either.

Well at least George jumped up and gave us some ammo once again and his list is pretty good.

I think I was clear, that by criticism of Mr. siementals system I did not include his personal ability to catch fish or imply that my ability is even up to yours.

As a purchaser of his DVD, his book and having read several articles as he promotes his products. I am saying without reservations that I got more out of Murphy's book and that at best he spends more time encouraging the reader to try new things, or that trophy bass fishing is a worth while endeavor. If you personally like the guy thats fine, I've never met him....And I've never witnessed any of his positive or negative rumors about him.

I would say the same to him. And I wouldn't be half suprised If he in fact might read this venerable forum.

I have pursued my questions on his site and forum without resolution.

Just before the cut off for any NG or just before Stren try and book a guide trip with Cooch, you can’t because one of those top Pro’s already have it booked!

Way to go Mike! Where is Chris Raza?

ACM - Then personally I would suggest that you stop being such a Tool for Internet/DVD/Magazine Fishing in the like - and Just Get Out There And Do IT !! ... and please feel free to converse openly again at any time with Mr. Siemental in your own choosing right here ~~> http://www.thebbz.com/phpbb2/index.php

It ain't Rocket Science in what he will take his personal time out to share OPENLY with us all ~in answering yours and ours alike very own personal questions to him and his crew .... Just like Cooch in here daily pointing fingers to "Here and Now" for the waters they both are fishing and having success/struggling on with-in a week or less.

Just like you have already admitted -- You never have Met the Man in Person !

So why dont you go crucify some 34 others from that top 40 list WHO DO NOT EVEN SHARE WITH EVERYONE IN WHAT THEY ARE DOING !! ~ Much less Publish a Book and DVD to the open weekend fisherman.

Again- I nor my son have never spent any time on the water with Mr. Siemental. But he did give up one hour each of his day - in three days straight to talk with DeltaLuke in helping him make up his own personal choices in how to fish DeltaLukes tourney. Gave DelltaLuke some baits we were lacking on .... and came to the Awards Cermony for the Jr. State in giving each Teen his book, DVD's and stayed there for another 2 hours talking with everyone there in giving more of his personal time and sharing a Meat Ball of what he knows in just a Nut Shell of time.

No worries at all on my part ACM ....... Just keep "internet fishing" for you on your own personal success in the ages to come/not come easily for you Bro.
