Some do the best they can, Sorry.

Post by bassindon69 »

I wanted a Ranger too. I was , I guess to poor to get one and my credit was not good enough then. There was only ONE place that got me qualified at the time. (boats unlimited) There was a catch, Very high interest.
I could not afford a payment any higher then that 17' boat. So I had no choice but to pick the boat I did. If I wanted to have a bass boat this was it. It was not an aluminum boat with a home made deck on it like all my others with a 10 hp motor. It was a dream come true to me. I worked hard on homes all my life. Never had much really.
I could not afford tourneys, Just one or two a year. Sometimes more if we felt lucky after a win. Mostly night tourneys.

Don't you think everyone would like to have a so called nice boat?
Some work hard just to have what little they have.
So when you poke your fun sometimes it's only fun for you.

Johnny C, You are a great person. Thanks for being there as a friend. As you can see trying to be there for me will only make more drama.

It is sad that no matter how well you do, fun fishing or in a tourney some people will always try to belittle you, or belittle what you did, and even what you have.
I don't like drama at all. I guess it just came with catching big fish and being on-line.
Because I never had it in my life with fishing till then.
I never said I was the man, the hot shot, the big fish dude. I'm just me, just like you.
I am doing my best now to get out of this sport (forever) and trying to sell my stuff. That's all. Nothing more.
Many things have happend that have changed my life forever.
It's just not fun anymore.
So I am sorry if I post about selling my boat and stuff to much, I am sorry if you think I don't post it enough. I am sorry if I don't do it the way you do. I am sorry if I could not have what you have. Sorry if im not good at computer stuff.
Sorry for everything.
Im not whinning at all, just telling it like it is. If you take what I post as whinning all the time, I guess im sorry for that too. MY GOD!
It's just not fun any more. Period.

I thought I was doing the best I could.
Also, I quit smoking 2 years ago ,Sorry. Also sorry I used a net. Sorry, I should have swung them big uns in? Sorry for being on-line.
Sorry for being alive.
I guess life would be better if I had a Ranger? I think not.

Only one thing to say, Sorry hope you feel better.
Go Big or Go Home!

WTF guy. Dont let these aholes get to you. I dont know how any one could hate bass fishing. I can see how people get caught up in the forums and stuff. Dont take it so personally. You have a boat, be happy, it works for you. You wanna sell your boat in these tough times, it better be priced better than anything else. Additionally, people have to want what you have to offer. Maybe now is not the best time to sell. Just keep it till later if you can. Give it up for a bit, I am sure you will miss fishing itself. To me, fishing helps keep me motivated. I look forward to it every second when at work. Good luck to you, just take everyone on WB with a grain of salt.

Sir, I don't know you from Adam, but I can sense the frustration in your post. I apologize for my somewhat snappy comments yesterday. I have no desire to add to anyones woes, especially someone who, to me, is just a username on a website. I hate to see the "give up" indicated in your post. I watched the video posted by Johnny C. You don't look like a quitter. I hope you can find the strength to find that second wind and get back in the fight. God bless you, Don.

WOW!!!WE'LL ? Good luck Don, you know me, i'll help all that I can. And; you will always be welcome in my boat ! Just never never say sorry for being alive. Quit tournaments sure, I quit when I retired, but being on the water with God so near, I will never quit.

Last, $6000 for all you offer is a great deal, especially for someone that would want to start out in this (sport)? Wish I were young and just starting again, I'd jump on it !!

God Bless you my distant friend.

Like I said if he wants to wait till I get back to california I will jump on it. Not that I'm asking him to wait just if he still has it I will be all over it.

Dang Don, I cant believe this is happening to you. I dont know what to say other than thats terrible you need to do this. Come on guys lets help this man out. Lets help make this a possitive experience for him. I read all the drama and it is not cool. lets get his boat sold with his stuff so he can be at rest with him self. My prayers are going out to you Don. you are a good kind hearted person that deserves better. Good luck my friend.

Don O
never give up, be possitive and patient, and you will be rewarded

I'm in the dark on this one. Been away doing some seminars in Idaho (had a great time) BUT

I've probably still caught more bass out of an aluminum Jon boat than a bass boat. Still fish out of one from time to time. Buy what you can afford and get on the water. The fish don't care what you boat is.

Quit bass fishing??? Are you nuts??? Maybe for a little while, but bass fishing is a "bad drug" . You'll have to have more :D Don't get rid of all your stuff. You will regret it, I believe.

Johnny C a great guy???? .............Yes, I agree, but don't tell him I said so.

Dude you sound down in the dumps, I just got logged on and am missing something, but you really sound like a good fishing trip is in order. Hope things get better for you.

You sound like a great guy. Hell we all know you can catch fish! I've seen plenty of your pictures. I have only read one thing that MAYBE you should say sorry for, but really it was no big deal it could have been taken either way.

I've been away from Bass fishing myself for a while because I have been running my business. But I am coming back, real soon! I miss the **** out of it and wish I would have never sold my boat! But we all make mistakes...:-)

Don't sweat the haters, they are everywhere. Their the quiters in life, the negative ones...F them!

It's not the size of your boat, it's the drive, knowledge, preparation, can do attitude that get's you through life, fishing and everything else!

Hell, try having Gary Dobyns and Kent Brown calling you short ****, midget and little F%^&* for 13 years...:-)

I'm ready to go catch fish this week in your boat, where are we going?....:-) I think Gary is right, you need a trip!

Don-look around you and figure out there are things to be thankful for. At 60 I just invested our entire lives in a business that is very close to going under. I sold the boat and a lot of other stuff to keep it going. I think we are going to survive and next year I will buy another boat. They are like bung holes, everybody's got one. I have had six and they are repalaceable. I just look at my healthy grandson and figure life is good and this economy will eventually get better. Lot of guys are suffering now so you are not alone. Go fish as a backseater and keep your rods and reels. As for poking the bear you should consider it a sport and poke back a little. Have a better day buddy.

Don, You have more friends out there then you know! I can't count the number of times you threw me a bone when I couldnt find a bite, with out hesitation!
Listen here my friend, dont let life get you down! I know that times are tough for a lot of people right now and we just need a break, something good to happen; that break will come for you man!
You have always been the guy who is there to put out a hand to anyone who needs it as well as a few words of encouragement to bring someone out of the dumps..
You are truly an inspiration to me, someone who makes life better for other people just by your existance and I know my life is better just by having a friend like you.
You take care of yourself!

Your friend,
George

Don, I don't know if those giving you trouble know of your' reason to sell your' boat and tackle, but if they DO, then they have no class and zero respect. Kicking someone when they're down just drives me insane.

I would also recommend at least keeping some of your rods and stuff. It sounds like you have a lot of people who respect your knowledge and friendship. Let them take you out when time and health permits.

You know, it's one thing to rib someone who gets into the sport, buys an expensive rig, then sells it a year later because he doesn't like the sport anymore. It's completely different if it's your life's blood and you HAVE to give it up for reasons of health and other problems-especially while relatively young. My brother had to do this a few years back due to a severe back injury. Lost his job. He had to sell his Gator jet boat at a huge loss. Several people were interested in it, but couldn't be allowed to use it in tourneys. He eventually sold it to a family back east. Garage sold most his equipment. He is very lucky to have friends who don't mind taking him out for short trips until his back pain is too much to stand. Most times it's 2-3 hours. They take him because they know what it would be like to have to give up something you love. I know I would be crushed if I had to give up fishing.

There but by the grace of God, go I.

Hey old friend, don't let these dildos get you down, I'm sure that I don't know the whole story as I have been pretty much out of fishing all spring and summer. (Wife was quite ill, brain surgery and lung surgery) But now I'm slowly getting back into it. Heaven forbid that any of you that have bad mouthed Don end up in a similar situation, Don is a stand-up guy. One of the few that will actually help you with CORRECT information and not the normal BS that is normally given out when asked for pertinent information. I have a new boat and a back seat that is seldom used that is available any time you want to go. Don Longton
