Old School Flasher units

Post by Rooger »

Does anyone still use these? I was cleaning out my garage and came across my first sonar unit - a portable Hummingbird Tom Mann Bird Trap flasher with the yellow box.

Also came across my old Hummingbird WideOne - also portable LCD.

Are these worth trying to move on ebay, Craigs List or the classifieds on this site? Assuming they're not, any suggestions on what I can do with them (short of having waste management dump 'em in some landfill)?

Todays sonar units have a "flasher" option and the right side real time bar just before the history display. If you fish vertically, a flasher can display your lure, baitfish and bass real time, accurately and faster than LED sonar; did you know that?
Is there a market for legacy units? Try looking at E bay for your unit and get some idea of it's value or list it on this site, who knows?

Yes - read the manual  I have a flasher built into my girl and run it when driving during the low water season - flashers are real time there is a small amount of lag on an LCD as the processor is interpreting the signal received.
