Castaic on New Years?

Post by dockboy »

Gonna fish the upper lake a bit on New Year's. Haven't fished it much recently. My basic plan is throw the darter, and jig all day. Are the fishing still pushing the shad up a bit?

I was there on sunday...

Threw the jig, texas worm, split shot, drop shot, spoon, ice jig, and underspin. It was tough to say the least. Bait was scattered and the air was a crisp 45 degrees, bluebird skies and little wind, water was 57. I wont be going up that way for a few weeks...

Very tough bite up there right now. You really have to work hard for your bites and shad fish are there for the taking if your in the right spot at right time.
