San Mateo ISE Utimate Bass Round Table Question Contest

Post by kb »

The San Mateo ISE is coming and the Ultimate Bass Round Table Seminar will be Sunday, January 17 at 12:30. We will be joined by five of the top pro anglers in the West and you get to ask the questions.

This year once again we will be taking six questions from the questions posted here under this post. If your question is picked you will be our guest at the show vith a VIP Pass, your question will be asked during the seminar and you will get a tackle gift as well at the show.

You can ask one of the pro's a direct question or ask it as a group it doesn't matter. We will close the contest next Thursday and start another contest for the Sacramento Show the following week.

The five pro's are Gary Dobyns, Jimmy Reese, Zack Thompson, Ish Monroe and Randy McAbee.

For a complete schedule check out www.sportsexpos.com.

We will see you all in San Mateo the 14th thru the 17th.

question for all- It seems at most of the top level tournaments multiple guys find the same fish, when you go to your start spot and you are sure you have found the mother lode yet when you get there the first day only to find other boats there how do you deal with or adjust to that scenario? do you stay and fish or leave and come back later?

When searching for the "pattern" or "presentation," if a certain bait or color is working on a spot, when do you decide to try and duplicate the spot with the same bait, or stay and try a different color or bait? Ex: A brown jig on a rocky point; do you try a black jig or tube? or search for other rocky points with the brown jig.

FOR ZACK THOMPSON... a couple years ago my friend drew you in a WON BASS PRO/AM he said that you told him that if you are thirsty when fishing the delta you just scoop up a cup of the delta water and drank it ?? any truth to that ?? bob g

When you have a productive pattern that involves a certain color and type of bait, like a crankbait, how many of that lure do you like to have in the boat with you?

Awesome list of Panelists, Definetly Some of the Wests finest Tournament Anglers.

Gentlemen, When your fishing a tournament and the majority of the field head to the 2-3 most productive areas, what is your thought process?

Do you fish less productive water in hopes of having it to yourself, or do you join the crowd and hope you get there quick enough that the bite wont disappear?

My questions are for each person

When pre-fishing on Clear Lake and the California delta during winter, spring, summer and fall seasons what is your most confident search lures and techniques for each season?

How long do you stay at any one area of the lake or river after you find fish? How do you fine tune your pattern to catch bigger fish?

What do you key on with your electronics during each season at Clear Lake? Do you use your electronics at the delta and if you do what do you key on there?

Thanks
John

Ok here is the deal with the San Mateo Contest. If you put up a question before this post you get a pass to the show and I will ask your question during the roundtable on Sunday at 12:30.

You pass will be under your westernbass.com name since I am not sure of your real names. I will also list WB on the will call envelope.

You can use the pass any of the four days of the show. Passes will not be forwarded to other shows so if you can't make San Mateo it will not be forwarded to Sacramento, to hard to keep track of guys.

Now for the bad news! Since there was very little participation on this contest I have decided to not do the Sacramento contest. We will have the roundtable in Sacramento at 12:30 on Saturday. Look forward to seeing you all there!

Congrats to our winners

A huge storm is approaching in the afternoon and you run 5 miles and it takes you X amount of minutes in the morning. How much more time do you allow to get back to the weigh in the same distance. None or take chances with 4-5 foot rollers?
