Hope to see you there Rod. I believe the show special will be the same as Last Year. By a Phenix Rod at the show from our bass, new trout, or salt water line and you get a free Phenix Gortex jacket or Parka while supplies last. And it has to be purchased from the Phenix Booth.

Let me see how I can put this..

Kobe Bryant = Phenix Rods

Lamar Odom = Powell Rods

Both are good enough to make it to the "Pro's" but when you really play with/use them, you will know who/which is better..

Hope that helps..

Rod- I have no idea what the "Classic" line of rods is .... But Bring your own reel and line to put on those rods when "feeling them" to try out a similated hook-set and parabolic bend.

Even the 734 has a 50 degree +/- Spline Twist to it.

You can also read up on TackleTours review of them here from '08 ~~> http://www.tackletour.com/reviewphenixrodspreview.html
Stay tuned for actual in depth reviews of Phenix rods in the future where we put the rods on our RoD Wrack and rate the rods in all categories.
[ ] TackleTour never found their rods worthy of testing further.
[ ] The 734 I tried out and felt torqed somewhat like a glass rod when a reel and line was on it.
[ ] You get a free jacket on some overstocked rods when purchased from their booth.
[X] All of the above.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Dan you crack me up.
First of all, Zander and Cal and the boys at TT love the Phenix line.
First Phenix does not make a 734 so not sure if you meant the Powell 734. Second, here are just a couple of the TT reviews in which each model they tested got their Editors Choice award http://www.tackletour.com/reviewphenixultrambx707h.html
http://www.tackletour.com/reviewphenixx10.html
http://www.tackletour.com/reviewbassathon2009rods.html

They will be stopping by the booth at the Sac ISE so expect to see a write up on the new bass line.

As for the jacket its a show only special that we have run at all the shows we are at. Besides the rods sell too fast to have overstock.

As far as how they compare to Powell's, that is not one to compare to. Its like apples and oranges. Powell makes a very nice rod, But Phenix has better components, better guides, better quality Toray Blank. etc. So its like saying Powell is a very nice Toyota Camry, but if you want the upgrade get the Lexus (Phenix) Also keep in mind, better components and higher quality = higher price range. hince the $80.00 difference between the two.

Stop by and check them out. We always have reels at the show to put on which ever model you choose.

See ya there!

I couldn't of said it better myself..

BTW..That was not nice of you to make things up Dan and I apologize if my "Kobe" analogy rubbed you the wrong way but IMO it was pretty accurate..

I wouldn't say so..

I would say Lebron because he (Lebron)/those rods has alot of hype generated because of the "media" and not from performance or actual substance..
