looking for a bass club
looking for a bass club
Hi there, I am new to this site and am really enjoying it. I am looking to get started in tournaments and a bass club, which I have wanted to do for a very long time. I have been bass fishing for as long as I can remember but have never joined a club or competed in a tourney. I am in Bakersfield, ca. any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

welcome. If you want to make a little drive like a lot of Bakersfield boys, you should consider the Visalia Bass Club. check out the web site at visaliabass.com. It's only $15 to join and $90 a team for entries. If you have a skeeter w/ Yamaha, you can win skeeter real money. Payouts are really good. we average 40 boats at most tournies.

Hi Redneck,
I'm in Bako too. I just visited Golden Empire Bass Club, which meets on the first Tuesday of the month at Rusty's Pizza at Ming & Ashe. They seem like a good group of guys. Their next event is Feb. 20 at Nacimiento.
I think Kevin Dees is the club president. You can call him at 343-2114.

Thank you all for the replies. I will check these out. My main concern is getting penalized for not making all the tournaments for a certain club. With my job there is no guarantee for certain days off. Do you guys know if this would be a factor for any of these clubs?

Sorry, I don't know what Golden Empire's policy is. Try giving 'em a call.

Most clubs are happy to have new members, so I'd think you could take your pick. Some guys fish with more than one club, too.
