Zona is the one TV personality that just irritates me to the point i turn the sound off!!! Im sure alot of it is scripted and not his doing BUT on a good note "Fish" is back to make a showing at the BIG show and i think that is cool.......

Just shows how bad things are, when BASS has to eat crow and hire him back, after dumping him because they were too cheap to pay him in the first place.
I love Fish, and I hope it works out for him.
Look for Navico/Louie Chemi to do the same with Linda Colt.

Ditto Mark, I was just thinking the same thing but I cant believe Fish would go back after the way he was treated by BASS. Remember all the "HOOPLA" back then. I also agree FISH will be a big hit for bass, I like him :D

As for ZONA NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Guy bugs the you know what out of me! every word he says is draAAAAAAAAAAAwn out

I say we put COOCH on the stage!!!! :D :D :D :D

The guy who does thier open events (not the elites) is excellent. He treats them all the same and is just a plain nice guy.

I remember my 1st big tournament was the 2005 BASS Western Open Columbia. Everyone was really cool with me and made sure I got practice time and the right info I need for how to prepare for such big tournament. Well after day one I was sitting in 7th place and couldn't hardly contain myself. Well after the weigh-in I was still wondering around the area and hadn't really noticed that I was the only one still there. All of a sudden here comes Fish and ask me what I was still doing there. I told him that I just wanted to "take it all in". I think he stayed there and talked with me for about another 2o mins or so. Really cool guy. I remember him telling me how proud he was of me for just being there. Welcome back FISH.

I think you nailed it, CN. Too ESPN. That's a great description.

Ever since Jim Rome climbed up out of Simi in the early '90s, and went national, loud, controversial, and overhyped has become the hallmark of T.V. sports. Who can ever forget Chrissie Everett?
I'm sure their experts at ESPN have determined that they need to do that for ratings, but it sure does get old, quick. They want to attract the 13-25 year old male, but they forget who pays the bills for those males, their parents.
To me, it takes away from the actual event.
I don't need an anouncer to get me "fired up", like a cheerleader.
Fish is funny, informed, and a nice guy. Glad to see him back, although I'm usually fishing when BASS comes on.

Mark, your call on Jim Rome is right on. I'll never understand why being obnoxous(?) is thought to be entertaining.
