Dobyns DX 744C

Post by Micropterus salmoides »

How does the backbone power, tip stiffness, and rod flex of the DX 744C compare to the Champion 734C?

A little bit faster tip and a little more backbone on the Dobyns. Both great rods! I like the Dobyns a little better myself however its all preferance. Jim

I haven't used the others, But I do have the 744c and 784c, and they are excellent rods.

I have both of those rods. Both are great rods.

However, I would say the Dobyns 744DX has less backbone than the Loomis 844GLX. The Dobyns definitely has a softer tip.

Also the 744DX is stiffer than the 784 DX......Both amazing rods...very versatile also.
