You can launch at either Glory Hole or Tutteltown ramp. It just depends on the direction you are comming from, as the ramps aren't really that far apart on the lake. If you are heading north on 49, Tutteltown is closest. East on 4, and it's Glory Hole.

The main lake is full of island tops and points and a variety of small bays and arms. I would look for staging areas off the bays and coves and work from there.

If you head east under the 49 bridge you will enter the main river arm. It gradually becomes steeper canyon like walls and some small inlets with some wood and brush.

It really depends on what you like to fish in pre-spawn. There is a really good population of spots that can get pretty big, as well as the occasional donkey largemouth, so what you target will dictate your approach.

Hope this helps, Wes

Glory Hole is very helpful and they publish web reports weekly with through accurate reports and pictures of fish caught by thier patrons.

Run upriver  , fish either side. Early AM most guys were on the sunny side, I like the shade. Last weekend we found schools of fish 35’ to 45’ deep, drop shot anything that looks like a craw, 3 to 4â€

The Tuttletown and Gloryhole Point ramp aren't far apart at all(at the water). I'm not as familiar with the South/Southwest side of the lake as I am up in the river to the east. While the majority of anglers fish the South end, I can't force myself to fish anywhere but the canyon walls. It's just a beautiful thang. I love to bounce jigs off the walls and let them fall into a big Spots' mouth.

Good luck, and hope you don't catch any of those pesky Red Eyes!

CN if your after L/M fish the Mormon creek area, this time of year, start outside and work your way in fishing secondary points and drops close to flats throwing a brown jig, husky jerk with long pauses, if your after spots go just about anywhere, I like the damn area.

CN these are all good tips. Might try some myself. You will enjoy the lake. Just be careful of trees just underwater in the creek arms and there is an island just underwater without a bouy on it near Glory Hole point on the Angels arm side. Good luck.
