Interesting Day on the Delta

Post by tunaman »

Had a chance to get out and play today, and it was interesting to say the least.

First, in my rounds I got to play with one of Cooch's pets - this little guy decided he wanted to beat up Kermit, and I got to play with him for about 5 minutes:

I then realized that I had one of my cameras with me and went to the back compartment to pull it out. When I got back on the front deck, the little guy got a bit camera shy, but stuck around long enough for me to get a couple of photos.

Later, I was running some shallows and ran across an area where the crappie had started bedding. I stopped and played with them for probably 20 minutes, and stuck 5 before deciding to leave them to their procreation - a couple of them were real slabs:

Oh, and caught several bass (nothing big enough for photos) and saw some real good ones cruising, but couldn't get the bigger guys/gals to go.

All in all, it was an interesting and fun day on the water.

Great Grass/Pic's and Slabs there BrothA Rog !!

It is also time to fly fish for the Craps as well in DBay on a 1/16th shad dart with a #5 rod/line in the shaded docks. :D
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

DOH!!!

Sorry - I stand corrected! I don't think I've ever caught them before, so not familiar with the species. Thanks for the clarification! They behave just like the crappie I've seen before when bedding, so I presumed they were just a Delta version.

The camera was a Canon 1DS MKII with a Canon 28-300 IS IM lens. Original photos are 16MP.

Thanks! I have the 1DS and two 1D MKII bodies, and several L glass IS IM lenses to go with the usual collection of lower-end glass.

You work for a great company - I've been a Canon user since my first AV-1, and still also have my A2E (with eye control) and my 20D (which replaced my original 10D).

Hope they treat you well!
