**New top prize for the CBC at Elsinore***

Post by TEAMDEADMONEY »

I went and prefished at that joke of a lake and in 6 1/2 hours I lost 5 reaction baits and 23 other hooks and weights ALL for ZERO bites!!! Yeah Im dialed in...hahaha NOT!
Water temp is 80-83 degrees, visibility is 6 inches and the bass are far and few in between...
This tournament is going to be EXTREMELY tough and my prediction is only like 5-7 people will even bring a bass to the scales...
I know a couple of guys will get a couple ..MAYBE... but I highly doubt all 10 qualifying spots will be filled with guys that caught fish..
I'll be blanking most likely..
After how hard i prefished without a bite, Id be surprised if i even catch a bass...But I'll be there trying my best.
All that being said... Ive enlisted one of Lake Elsinores finest residents to go home with the winner of this state championship qualifier..
.
.

The prize for the winner of the CBC event at Elsinore gets this hot mama..
Lake Elsinores Finest..

Good luck fellas...we are gonna need it!!!

I hear that Kramer monitors the water levels closely at Elsinore. When the water drops...he cleans up! How do you think he gets all that tackle he writes about???

On the city's website I found this:

Lake Elsinore to Host State Bass Championship Hopefuls

40 SoCal champion anglers make fast stop on June 25th in pursuit of the crown

Posted Date: 6/15/2010 11:00 AM

LAKE ELSINORE--Although brief, a June 25th visit to Lake Elsinore will play a key role in the final crowning of a 2010 California state bass fishing champion.

That Friday morning, 40 of Southern California’s top bass anglers will compete in the California Bass Fishing Championship (CBC tour).

Each of the top 10 finishers from Region 1 (Inland Empire/San Diego) will earn $1000 in this Regional final and qualify for the state title at Clear Lake later in the year.

The contestants’ angling resumes include competitive individual and team expertise as well as professional guiding experience. To qualify for the CBC Regional, each angler fished solo and needed to finish in the top 10 at one of four venues: Diamond Valley, Perris, Lower Otay or Lake Hodges earlier this year.

The test will be especially challenging since California angling regulations stipulate only six hours of angling time may elapse before the contestants must weigh in their live catch. The competitors will launch and weigh-in at the City’s Seaport Boat Launch & Landing with the tournament hours expected to run from 6 a.m. to noon.

More information on the CBC can be found at www.californiabasschampionship.com.

Petey... use the force padawan . There are plenty of bass in Elsi, you just gotta find 'em. Kramer has been dishing out nuggets of advice on his web site on how to catch them.

Don't matter if you catch one or 5 fish to make the top 10 cut, the $1000 will spend the same.

How about the bags on the shoreline. Were they filled with dead carp? I was told there was a bunch of dead carp on the bank. When I went all I saw were a bunch of plastic bags full of something every 40 foot or so down the shore.

I have an idea. Why not have Tom L. go out on Elsinore on Thursday and if he catches one, legally, we fish there on Friday. If not we all just show up at DVL on Friday morning and have a fun event where they are chewin! How about a vote? Rick G.

I have no problem with the challenge. But if I am going to take off a Friday in June to fish it should at least be fun. See you there Pete. Rick G.

It's a one in four chance at a thousand bucks. I know it's a tough lake but I'm kinda glad we didn't end up at big bear. That's a long drive to prefish. Best of luck.

So if you don't get 10 guys with even 1 fish does a tie breaker go back to your 1st qualifying weight? From the sounds of it 1 or 2 of the right fish might get you through.

As for a winner I am with Hollywood on this one. How could you not have Wick at the top of your list? Dude has been tearing it up this year. As for the "one trick pony" label he has, that will be shed after Els and Mead and then Clear.

Got 2 do something for all the triple trouts he has sent me. Besides I haven't been to far off each time I said he was going to do well. I did pick him for the HBC didn't I?

BUT back to my Q, what happens if there are not 10 guys with a fish?
