This is the way I Roll- Tackle whore

Post by lacy10 »

I have been trying for years to get the perfect tackle system to hold my tackle ,, soft baits , hard baits , jigs I think I have found it , I am going to try and do a article for Bass Master Mag. or any other that will have me , if you have seen my truck with the built in compartments you will know what I am talking about ,Here is just a couple of pictures of my 3-4 " senko box and my 5" senko box what do you think , I know somebody is going to comment that I have to many color choices but ,so what its my boat , as you can see the the senko box has compartments left to hold hooks, weights, O rings so you have everything in one place anyway what do you think ??? The idea looks good the only issue I see you having is the salt rusting your hooks. Are the tabs made with Z rust?

Any issues with Senkos being stored out of the package? I have always kept all of my softbaits in their original package. Messy and I do not like it but I am concerned about bleeding, degradation of the scents, etc. The other problem I have is picking out the difference in the many colors I have. Especially the subtle differences in some of the Senkos. Your boxes defintely are set up nice.

Hey thats really outstanding. I like it! I have all my tackle in my boat. And I do mean all. Both rod and center compartments are packed with plano boxes (Z20). It's hard to get them out when I need them.

While my boxes are labeled and organized, I like your idea of putting all the tools in one box for that particular technique. I find myself going through several boxes to put a rig together. Like a have a Hook Box, a Terminal Tackle Box, a Lead Box. Well you get the idea.

I see you will still have to access both boxes to get terminal tackle for the smaller senkos should want to use "O"rings or nail weghts larger hooks.

You can't have too much!

Nice! I'm just like you when it comes to being organized. What size box is that and do you have pics of how you organize your CB box?

I use the center compartment of my Z20 for tackle and have no problem getting the tackle out. They are vertical in two rows and log ways bow to stern. Is this how you have them in your boat? If I can find a pic, I will post it up.

I did change to the small Planos for my hooks and weights. I separated them in to categories. All lead in one, Tungsten another, hooks, etc.

Thanks for the answer about the plastic. G-man. Though I am pretty sure we are under mandate to be unhelpful and negative. Please change your response to an appropriately negative tone.

My name is Alex and I'm a tackle whore....

I use a tuperware like container I bought at savemart....same width as the senko packages..holds at least 20 packs. Then I use falcon "plano" boxes for hooks n' stuff.

I am adding a few pictures of another one of my boxes( this one contains only curly tail worms 5" and under) ,I have about 28 of this size in all, plus about 80 of the regular, Flambeau boxes. a few people have asked about rust well this particular box with the blue dividers has the Zerust corrosion protection system which almost prevents rust 100% . the model of boxes I am using the most now and am showing here is the Flambeau model 8001 , it also comes in a deeper version with a different setup for dividers I believe if they have the blue dividers the are Zerust , , the only place I know locally in S. Cal is last Chance Bait and Tackle in Hemet , and I believe Bob,s Fishing Tackle in Norwalk has a few left if I haven't bought them all .anyway I hope this gets your mind going . I sure would like to see some of other peoples Ideas .[img][/img]

Oh yeah here is a couple pictures of the way I organize my basic worm box, of course I cleaned it up to take photos , It is a plano box that has a upper and lower box , you can put your hooks on the top box and then open it up and it will have all your weights, and misc. bulk Items. i sometimes leave it on the deck for easy access , it is heavy enough to stay put sort of this is just the way I do it to try and have everything in one place,, I hope it gives you more ideas [img] [/img][img][/img]

I like to keep my plastics in the package still as the baits hold their true form better, I think anyways.
Looks very nice, how long that lasts is another question. har har
I prefer to keep all hooks in bags and weights as well. They still go in a Plano box but never loose.

I think the amount of time you lose trying to find the bait/weight in loose bags for most of us is the deal breaker with that system. My hook and weight system is basically as shown, and is quick and easy to prep a new pattern, or replace one that just broke off. The only diff would be my hooks are all on top (with a few treble sections too), weights/beads/rattles below.

Good job on the pics/posts.

All I need to get into the money would be the four I usually get along with a 20# kicker.

Nice set-up. Mine used to be similar, but now I prefer to keep my worms in their bags, and I organize all the bags together with shower curtain rings. I keep my color choices to a minimum these days though. :D
