Elsinore Recap....

Post by TEAMDEADMONEY »

Well it went exactly the way I expected today... I BLANKED!
So in 3 trips to that hell hole I caught 0 bass...NICE!!
Congrats to the nine guys that caught a bass today...you are to be applauded for your effort for sure... COngrats on the $1000 bucks...

Now hopefully Tom will do the right thing and just have a drawing on video pulling ONE Name from a hat to qualify the final person.

No need for the remaining guys to spend another day off work, pay for gas and other expenses to go back to that place or anywhere else for that matter for one remaining qualifing spot.
Make it random, do it on video and make it for the remaining guys who showed up today...simple as that.

Elsinore was BRUTAL tough...even the favorites got their butts handed to them..
Chip... Blank
Nemec... Blank
Wick... Blank
Robert S. ... BLANK
Guy...Blank
Hippie...Blank
Me....Blank
blank
blank
blank...etc etc
etc... YUK!!!

When I left the lake I felt like someone smeared peanutbutter all over my body , then rolled me in dirt!! :?

Anyways... Congrats again to the boys that caught them...

Rick take your $1000 bucks and have fun in Africa...

I guess I still have a shot at the $1000 if Tom does a draw...

The next time I go to Elsinore will be NEVER...
Oh and by the way... I hear they are raising the rates at Elsinore from $20 to $25 bucks to launch... WHAT A JOKE... They are out of their minds!!!!

Other than the bite or lack thereof....The event was run very smoothly so Nice Job is in order to Tom and his staff!!

Congrats to Guy for being the first person home....Dude was home by 12:40pm and caught a solid 3lb bass on his home pond by 12:42pm. Thats all I needed to hear for me to get there by 12:55pm and I caught my first bass there by 12:57pm and we all (including my 3 year old daughter)caught bass until 4 pm..
That helped wash off the Elsinore funk!!! Thanks Guy!!

Pete,
Do you know how the remaining field did, it sounded pretty tough? I was not able to get the video to play all the way through for me.

You can't draw out of a hat you have to have another tournament. The Perris guys already didn't have to catch a fish to qualify for regionals then if 1 is drawn they didn;t even have to catch a fish to make it to the big show. Another tounament i just washed the funk off my boat if I have to go back to elsinore I have to go back imm not scared. Ill try again. would like a different lake though Maybe Irvine.

Just my worthless opinion

Post by Schneider Fishing »

I hate to say it but George and Jason are both correct. We didn't get it done at Elsinore so none of us deserve to go. Can't draw one of us Perris guys from a hat like Rick said. Can't use the tie breaker because they didn't let us fish at Perris. Can't keep the money.

I'd love another shot at the big event but there will be someone unhappy wih the date or lake. I would say Elsnore or Perris.
Or my solution is to draw 10 names out of a hat for $100 each and nobody who didn't catch a fish at Elsnore gets to go.

By the way, I caught 2 shorts and a catfish. One short would have gone 13 inches if it had been mouth open nstead of mouth closed. Aghhhhh!

I'll post details at my website in a day or two.

What they need to do is take 9 from this regional to Clear Lake and pay them an additional $111.11 if they are indeed paying a full $1000 to the qualifiers without each of the events being filled. How can they pay that when one tournament only had 10 sign up?????

Elsinore is a cool lake. I say lets go back. kb and Robert's Idea's sound good to me if no fish off. No Drawing for sure.

Great Job to everyone that caught fish. You will all do well at the Championship. Bring the Title to So Cal. (Maybee next years Championship will head to Elsinore or Big Bear)

I think Elsinore was a great choice after Big Bear was lost. It took everyone out of there comfort zone. Loved seeing all the people taking themselves out of contention mentally before, during and now (if we go back) after the tournament.

Tom you kept appoligizing to everyone. What for!! You have nothing to be sorry for. This was a great place for our Reginol.

I didn't do enough homework and didn't have any confidence in the baits I was throwing. I have no one to blame but myself.

Tom and your Staff,, Thanks for working so hard to keep everyone happy. You are running all over the place helping people launch and everything else you do. Never see you stressed with all you have going on. I can see how hard you want this to work. You have my support. Art Bailey

Sorry but to get that last spot filled it should be back to Elsinore for the remaining guys IMHO. You cant have a guy make it all the way to the finals and never put a fish in the boat, Catching a bass at Elsinore is like scoring a goal in World Cup soccer, very few but a big deal when you do. Thanks Tom for all your efforts and Guy, you were on the spot at Staten Island BTW. Congtrats to all who qualified. Rick G.

Tough as it was, I don't think one fish might be enough in a rematch. But hey, here's something: http://www.pe.com/localnews/lakeelsinor ... bd7e3.html

Now I see why Rick likes you, Art. No excuses and no whining. I guess you navy boys aren't half bad. Wouldn't want to be left alone with a Navy boy though. Just the thoughts alone on a ship with thousands of men for months at sea. whoa thats a sick picture im getting in my head. Im stopping. Nice job to all that kicked my butt friday. yeah just put the money in the pot for the championship. who cares we sucked who didnt catch a fish and the championship guys could use a little more money for there event.

That lake could be alot of fun with some serious stocking program. It has been a while since I got to fish a place with so mant targets to throw at. Been hangin at DVL too much for sure. The local club has also done a bunch to make things better. Give it a chance. Rick G.

Too small, with all 15 boats out there, I was thinking Lagunal Hills Lake or Oso

there going to have to go back there and winner takes the last spot, if its a tie big fish brakes it, and if there the same weight then you got 2 guys going so thats 11 from down here, an they would spilt the 1000.00 so thats 500.00 each

otherwise this is going to be a big joke

After a good night sleep I can reflect on this event a bit more clearly. I do agree we need to send 9 or do a fishoff. I was against Elsinore because I did not feel it would be the best venue to promote the growth of CBC next year. I think the entire CBC concept is great and it is something new which we have all wanted for awhile. The simple truth is there are not any "secret" lakes in SoCal which can ge used for a tournament but doesn't get fished regularly. (maybe Skinner?)

Great job to everyone that got it done yesterday. It was obvious that the folks who did well had a plan and executed it. I will say that the lake was much better a year or so ago. I am not sure what led to the decline when it should be better now than it was 2 years ago. (more water and new cover) It is definetly a different fishing experience than any lake I fish in SoCal. Well done by the CBC as well. You are doing things that noone else in California has done for the anglers.

I say let the 9 qualifiers stand from this region. I could say something about the lake but yeah I'll pass. Great job to the 9 anglers!!!

There is NO WAY in HELL that you have a fish off for one spot.....

NINE guys qualified for the championship by catching at least one fish!!!!!

It would suck for the guy that caught one fish and dumped the fish because he didn't think it would be enough!!!!!

When you start doing stupid crap like this, all hell breaks loose!!!!

Tom, if you're listening....nine guys DESERVED to go to the championship after the Elsinore regional.....LEAVE IT AT THAT!!!!!

Quit crying about this, it was a great venue because it TESTED every angler there, the Sacramento River up north is gonna shape up to be very similar with the guys being restricted to the main channel and you don't hear them crying like a bunch of girls!!!!

LMAO! Thanks for the laugh Pete!

You guys are so used to catching donkeys at DVL. You have to fish 2# test and little crappie jigs to catch bass at Elsinore, lol. But then again, you'll probably end up catching a CARP! That damn lake is infested with carp.

F&G should get a few of the koi herpes contaminated carp from Echo Park and release it at Elsinore. That virus sure killed a ton of carp.

What the DFG should do is have another bass catchout from Matthews and put them all in Elsinore. 25 boats with the best guys around and stock that place. Bet you could get 400 plus good 2-6lbers in a day. Maybe even launch the shock boat for insurance. That place would be fun if the bites were there. Put a 2 bass limit with exceptions for derby permits and watch it go off as that place is loaded with big shad and they would get real fat in no time. Rick G.

Rick,
Nice idea with 1 modification. Send us to Lake Matthew's to fish for the last spot and then bring all the fish to Elsinore. 2 for 1.
Problem is going to be the date in July with a holiday weekend and US open putting the squeeze on choices.
In any event no one should complain. We all had our shot anything else is a bonus round.
