Clear Lake

Post by SNEAKS123 »

I hope the lake is on the up n up in mid Sept while Im up there for 10 days. All this talk about the current conditions with spraying and algae problems has me a bit worried. Last year around the same time it was not all that bad but the algae was there and it took a bit of extra work but had a few nice days on the lake.

I've got a camping trip planned for the first week of August. I'm a little worried about the algae and toxins.

Was camping at the same time last year and managed to have an awesome topwater bite for a few days before the algae hit, thanks to the silver sides.

By the way, does anybody know how the water level is right now compared to last year?

I'm assuming it's higher due to all the rain we've gotten this year, but just want to make sure...

It is definitely up from last year... that was obvious as we pulled into town and looked down into the keys. Also very apparent as we worked down some of the structure I've worked before, as the shoreline was much higher than in previous visits.

Sneak is correct - up three feet from the 08-09 winter - 7 feet total. It is down about 2 feet from high point a few months ago.
