I think thye are BS. I know someone that took one at a tourney for fun and he beat it. Also ever notice that if the attorney is paying for the test his client passes? Might as well go to a palm reader.

Yeah, I can't see using something that's not 100% accurate. VTO's at a TOC? Can't see that one happening for a few off the top of the head reasons. Money, time, counting on people showing up, and some boats are not able to perform with three in them. What are the answers? I don't know. Not sure if anything could be done because a cheater will cheat somehow, someway!! Guess the best start would be for the org's to buckle the tourney's down with boat checks, fish inspections and such. I hope this does not go in the direction of overreaction.

Boat checks won't work ! We all have hooks and sinkers on our boats so what would u look for? If I had a drop shot hooks with line tyed on it and a TT 1.5oz. and a wight stops in my boat would i get DQed ? Now do you know how fast I could rig those three up and make a "turrny winner rig" ? Faster then u could turn around! and then I would just cheak on the fish to make shure they are ok  .What needs to be done is the fish need to be cheaked @ the scales.

Weight's and hooks are not the only way to cheat. Boat checks were done when I started fishing tourneys some 15 years ago. Not so much now. Something about live bait. Don't get caught up with one way a cheater cheats!! Checking the fish will be done at least for a while but dought anything will be found now that it's been exposed. We can all hope that some cheater will be that stupid.

Putting weights in fish is my last worry I think that tying fish off or cageing is a bigger problem......... I cant tell you how many times I have caught the winning weight the day before and flop the day of the event.... Ya i know dont stick-em BUT usually I only get one day of pre-fish BUT if Any of us were cheaters that would be the way I would think people would have the desire to cheat....

What about the "stress Test" ? Isn't it supposed to be more accurate.

Making an example out of the cheater is a great detourant. Imagine the humiliation, the shame. Each time one of them gets caught, you have to think that it stops many others who are considering or have done it before.
I also think a great punishment whould be when the Judge assigns comunity service, that he would have to work with the DFG durring tournaments. That way he would have to face all the guys he wronged.
Another suggestion would be to have cameras mounted on the boat. I am sure you could hide some things but it would make it harder.

For the last few years, I have been the weighmaster for Mike Iljin's AC Castaic trail.
I do livewell and drain plug checks before launch, and then I weigh the fish when they are brought to the scales.
I have good eyesight, so I can read the scales without my glasses, a loud mouth, so everyone hears how much each bag weighs, and a short memory, so I can't tell you who is leading, or who has what weight, and that's probably a good thing.
I realize it would be easy for someone to have doctored weights, or crawlers or shad in a baggie, in their pockets before launch, or squirreled away somewhere in their boats.
It's not possible to search eveyone and everything before a tournament.
Think about it. Would you want me patting you down (I'm not talking to you Brian), or going through every compartment in your boat and truck?
Even if it were possible, we'd have to open the gates at 2:00, and close them at 2:30, to get everyone locked down so we could have a thorough search.
Let's be honest.
No one wants to go through that.
Most of us judge other people by ourselves.
And we don't want to live in the kind of world where everyone is guilty until proven innocent.
So we trust each other to be honest.
Given the alternative, I'll vote for that.
