I remember FLW doing the same thing NOT pressing charges on a guy who was cheating that was a few years ago. But my take on this whole thing is I dont think its fair that its up to the tournament org. to decide weather to press charges or not. I mean every angler that entered the tournament got cheated out of there fair shot at a better finish.
If this was a poker game the whole table would kick the cheaters butt! So I say when it comes to this cheating thing in tournaments I think the guys/gals putting up there money ought to have the final say in weather or not charges are filed! and one might argue it does not effect the guys finishing in 20th place and I call BS if I am fishing for points it effects me I could have finished in 19th!
I find it very unfair the tournament orgs decide who gets to cheat with my money on the line. (if I was entered in the T) I think the orgs better start stepping up and pressing charges on these cheaters and quit worrying about bad press and loosing entries.
We all know cheating happens especially now over the past 5 years so now we as the anglers need to start looking at which orgs are going to take responsibility for these cheaters when they are cuaght!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it is the organization that is deciding in this case to press charges or not, sounds like it is the local authorities that are having difficulty coming up with the appropriate legal charge that can stick.
WON did a great job with exposing the incident, but it is local law enforcement that files charges and all that. With no money actually transferring hands it is going to be difficult it looks to get something to stick, but I wish them the best of luck in sending this scum to jail.
Lesson learned is next time let the cheat get his pay check, tell the crowd how great of an angler he is and then cuff him cause now they have a case that he did steal the winnings.
But what really sucks is writing a post on westernbass at 12noon on saturday....why did I sleep in and not go fishing, it is a great looking day out the window

Won should send him a check in the mail with Us Open 2010 in the memo, see if he cashes it. There ya go, busted "lead" handed again
