Polygraph Examiner Joe Delia will be on Rod & Reel Radio this Friday at 11am to discuss the pros and cons of polygraph testing.
Just how accurate polygraph tests are, are they admissible in court and other questions you might have in your minds regarding testing should be covered.
Joe Delia was the examiner who administered the first test last week for WON Bass.

Re: Polygraph Examiner.... On Rod & Reel Radio...
Gotta say, this is about as an appropriate a show as anyone could come up with. And while there are a lot of guys who tell "fish stories" (I've had to listen to them for about 40 years) I bet Mr. Delia can answer the question, "What percentage of the people are actually compulsive enough liars who could create some doubt after taking the full three hour exam?" I bet the number is tiny, tiny.
Good job, John.

How will we know if Joe is telling the truth? I mean, graphing is probably his livelihood. Will he really diss it? J/K!!!!!!!!!

Re: Polygraph Examiner.... On Rod & Reel Radio...
Can you ask what happens if a person now knows that some potentially fishy activity was cheating how that will work on the test.
Like now that its know that Hart stuffed the fish while culling. If when the person was fishing with hart, Hart took a long time to cull. So now that team member knows that Hart was cheating.
Can you ask how the Poly would come out.

Re: Polygraph Examiner.... On Rod & Reel Radio...
The gentlemen we're having on Friday's radio show with us, and the one who Harvey Naslund choose to do the testing for WON Bass, has administered over 15,000 (yes that number is correct) of these tests. He teaches law enforcement agencies how to train examiners.
I would think that a fellow with this type of background has learned a little about how to know when someone is being truthful or not.
This should have an interesting interview. Just maybe we will dispel the rumors and half-truths surrounding polygraph testing with facts from an expert that knows exactly what he's doing. This will be a subject worth keeping an open mind about no matter what you think you know or have heard or read on the subject.

Re: If you missed Polygraph Examiner.... On Rod & Reel R
John...I just listened to the podcast and think everyone who is interested in the subject should click on the link and play it. Very informative. The interview starts at approx Minute 23...I thought you did a great job with the questions asked..such as:
1. Are the test results admissible in court?
2. What kind of people refuse the test?
3. Can someone beat the test?
4. What is the process and how long does the test take?
5. How has the technology and accuracy of the tests has improved over the years.
6. How important is the credentials of the interviewer?
7. How long does an average test take?
I think the part of the podcast I found most educational for me was, when he was talking about the pre-interview process and how the person being interview will know exactly what will be asked....so there are no surprises. Then also the post interview if someone fails, then the discussion that takes place.....Quite honestly from hearing this interview, The person administering the test, knows without even looking at the needle if someone is telling the truth or not.....the print out is just for evidence.
After hearing this podcast, and the process of the test..It's hard to question the fairness of it and that if someone is telling the truth there should be no reason why someone would turn down the opportunity to take one.
thanks John, Tuna and Stan...Great topic
