GK Top 40 2010

Post by sTony »

Here's a direct route to George Kramer's Top 40 List for 2010:

http://kramergonefishing.com/2010/11/15 ... 10-top-40/

Lots of stuff to talk about and, that right there, is the beauty that is... well, Kramer.

I was surprised to move up on the list after my injury riddled year. Thanks for believing in me George. Its a honor to make the list. I hope to come back strong in 2011.

Any list for 2010 of the TOP CA anglers that does not have Mark Daniels Jr on it is a JOKE. And those of us that REALLY do this know it! Is there anything that Mark and his partner have not won on the Delta in 2010? Three AOL in one season. Top finish in the ABA and State Federation Championship.

That's why it's GK's list. Once again an angler that doesn't even live in CA makes the list...

Kevin Hawk. He has lived out of state since last November. I guess that when Ricky has an negative OPINION of somebody's thoughts it is OK? Good list George. Tom Leedom is a stud that needs to fish bigger ponds, Rusty and Jon have taken WAY too much of my money down here in San Diego. Another pair of studs.

Mark Daniels Jr. would be the guy that the list might have overlooked, I'm sure it happens every year. Mark has absolutely been rock solid, whether fishing teams or draws, for a while now up here in my back yard and lakes about NorCal. He's not likely to be going anywhere anytime soon so I'd expect he'd get consideration next go 'round. I keep in mind that the list does take into account more then just a current season as well.

As always, not everyone's going to agree and usually that's a good thing.

I would have to agree with Mark making the list..Not only is he a solid stick, he represents the sport as well as anyone I have ever known..I have yet to get to fish with him, but have fished against him a bunch of times..

Always sorry to miss anyone who deserves it. I bet we'll do better next time. At least I hope. Now, answer to trivia question: Who was the bass player in Kramer's group the Bountymen, 1965-69? (Mark Daniel). It's close.

It kills me that it is always the Delta...Mark is truly worthy, but if that is your reason there is nobody that has been more dominant on a multitude of lakes than Kyle Rasmussen for years. Just weighed in over 22 at Pedro again on Saturday. George has a tough job here.

What a Joke. I guess if your going to make a post with a link to something that could not be less accurate you should take a little heat for for it. GK obviously needs follow bass fishing a little closer.

Looks to be a pretty solid list overall. As George knows this list gives up a lot of conversation after he puts it out.
Good and Bad but hey at least it gives everyone something to talk about as far as great fishermen in this state. I am sure there are many who may deserve to be on the list but why don't some of you try and make a list like this. Brakebill for instance. If you have never fished against this guy you have no idea how intense he can be in a tournament situation.
Heck many of you may not remember Greg Stump. What a stick he is and he has been on this list many times but he no longer fishes many tournaments. Also do you think this list should only be for tournament fishermen. No I do not. To be a trophy fish hunter takes a total different mindset than the tournament guys.
Oh yeah great job to all who made the list as well.

Whoever made up this list and did not include the most dominant bass fisherman on the California Delta this past year is a freaking joke! Get a clue! Mark Daniels Jr. has consistently and repeatedly beaten more than half the guys on you top 40 list week after week last year. To not even make this list is a crime! Mark was the Angler of the Year on multiple circuits in the same season and he does not even get mentioned on your Top 40 list. But what else is new in bay area bass fishing? All Mark Daniels Jr. did this year is kick butt every weekend! Cashing checks in almost every tournament he fished this past season. And so far this season, He won the first AC tournament of this new year. And still no mention in the Top 40? All those use to be’s and has been’s on this list are not even in his class! Mark is a great guy, an even greater fisherman and awesome BANC member!

Jared Lintner the guy is on the elites that should count toward something. Sean Staffored always deserves a nod I guess I could go on and on. Who want to try and make a revised list who is from Nor Cal. LOL

I know there are some guys who feel the North wasn't represented well (Mark is a stud) but there were some SoCal names I am surprised were not on the list. Cameron Smith jumps to my mind as a dominant angler in San Diego and a serious contendor in the FLW over the alst few years as well. Guess that is part of the pain of trying to narrow down to a top 40 list.

Agreed the list is a JOKE!!!

It's more about who he knows not what he knows.

I think what needs to be considered is that guys earn their way onto the list and it takes a bit to get yourself off of it once you're there. Both are fair concepts and it's George's list to make every year, but you can always start your own. I'm betting guys would have a problem with any list that anyone generated.

Depends if you consider finishing 2 at the State Federation Championship at Havasu (never been there before) and finishing 4th at the AC Team Championship at CL. I could go on because I am a fan of the sport and follow who is out there setting the derbies on fire.

If it makes you guys happy Mark can have my spot on the list. No disrespect to George Kramer it's an honor to be on it, just sick of the complaints. All the sour grapes in here kind of take away the honor of being on the list. So there you go guys put whoever you guys want at #12 it's all yours baby! MP

Mike,

Dont take anything said on the internets personally - IMO George Kramer has once again done what he does best. He has an opinion or topic that he states and gets a reaction or stimulates conversation throughout the fishing community, good or bad reactions dont matter as long as it creates discussion.

The way I see it in these threads are George has honored 40 individuals by publishing thier names and the rest of the group is honoring individuals by declaring that they should be on that list, these may be names that some of us dont recognize or know and are now in our consciensness.

So congrats on making the list, it was good to see names of GUYs that have been successful off the back of the boat and Matt Allen who is not a tournament angler but is an accomplished angler.

I don't take anything personal in the fishing world.........everybody has their own opinions. I'm sorry Mark didn't make the list he's an awesome stick and I'd like to meet him one day. One good thing did come out of this whole deal and thats I know who the hell Mark Daniels Jr. is now the guy has more supporters than Meg Whitman. Congrats on all your accomplishments this year brother. #12 wouldn't do you justice on this list anyways lol :D MP

Come on MP-You took so much of my money last year that I retired from team fishing. But let's be honest for a second, Mark Daniels had about the same year as you did on DV and he doesn't make the list....I agree the GK did what he sets out to do.

I am sorry if my assessment took away from those that are on GK list. That was never my intent. There are many great anglers, yourself included, that made the list.

Congrats to all that made it and it is something to consider as an accomplishment.

Poor guy is getting hit upside the head from every direction from every person's fan club who didn't make the list. Kind of put things into perspective............This list ain't no joke to some people! See ya this weekend. MP

If it will make ya all feel better, DanO and I can start up the WAR Report again in 2011 now that things have shaken out a bit here in the "Wild Wild" West.

Our thought is Rank Pro's and Co's this time based on finishes in the FLW(AFS), Won and Angler's Choice Pro-Am circuits as those seem to have the momentum going forward.

But we will consider all suggestions. Lets just keep the fire burnin!

Hey, listen up. This topic sure beats, "What's the best knot for tying to a dock cleat?" Actually, I would have to say this year's "List" was a huge success. The numbers prove it. But so you don't think I live in a vacuum, Stu Inman of the Portland Trailblazers failed to take Michael Jordan in the (1984?) NBA draft. Oh, and Tom Brady was the 199th player picked--second from the last--in the 2000 NFL draft. Stuff happens. :) Thanks for all the interest!
