Robo..

Post by sTony »

RoboWorm makes a variety of baits that work well drop shotting. I'd guess that they are the most commonly used. Yamamoto also makes a bunch of plastics that I drop shot with regularity.

Regionally, Mother's Finest hand pours and MGM Lures are very popular, especially when fishing Shasta and Oroville and other NorCal lakes. California Custom Worms, Camanche Jack, Keeper Custom, AA Worms, Magic Worms and others are popular as well.

My top 5 for all waters.

Post by TomAtkeson »

1. RoboWorm WarMouth (any size)
2. RoboWorm Folkstead Special (any size)
3. RoboWorm Fuscha Thunder (any size) but 4in body shad and fx sculpin are prefered.
4. Yamamoto Flat Tail Peral Blue
5. Yamamoto Flat Tail WaterMelon black flake

Ive used the above on the Delta, Contra Loma, Berryessa and Clear Lake with success. Hope this helps. I never dropshot with out using MegaStrike attractant. Try the new Fat Robo Worms too they are sweet!

Flashtrix

I have been using a lot of baits by Flashtrix, particularly the 4 inch minnows. They have been extremely productive baits, however, they are a bit expensive as far as plastics go.

Roboworm...

Post by Jason C. »

....hands down the best dropshot worm in my opinion. Whenever I dropshot its roboworm. I'd prefer the 6in worm just because I think it has a little more "dance" to it when you shake it. Just my .02

I would say my favorites have to be the 4" and 6" Keeper straight tail worms. I have been using them since I started bass fishing back in highschool about 15 years ago. I have been beat many times, but then again I have done pretty good at times as well. I try and stick to 4 or 5 basic colors that I have confidence in. Good luck in your search, just try and gain cofidence in a couple styles and stick to them. I am sure I am like a lot of bass fisherman, I have had way to many styles and colors in my boat. Once I listened to some of the folks here on the forum and cut it down to confidence baits. I have started doing better, which has helped with my cofidence during a tournament, or club outing, etc. Good Luck, Lugnut
