Otay M. wins award...Perris Rally...PHOTOS ADDED
Yeah, the Numbnut award for being late!!! BUT, when I got home I read the inbox first, before declaring my flub, and my partner I 'drew', whom was nice enough to hang around the dock till I got there, sent this:
"So, here I thought all day long that I was fishing with a pathetic loser for not waking up on time for a tournie that HE was putting on. But, on the news tonite they are talking about millions of people who used their I Phone to wake up this morning didn't because of a software glitch. Bummer. "Mike Robinett
Well, I was sooooooo bummed I did not get up until Mike called me at 5:25 to tell me the gate had a pay-problem, that's when I noticed the time -EGADS MAN. I skipped breakfast, almost skipped the coffee I was making for folks, and hit the freeway at 90 mph the whole way, getting there a half hour late from blastoff, what a 'tard I kept telling myself.
Thank God what he said was true (did not believe it, as the iPhone worked all last month getting me up for all those early morns on Texan lakes, but sure enough, I typed in iPhone and instantly results popped up about the flaw for 2011 alarms. All this time I thought I must have slept through the darn thing- but it never went off.
COOL, so I get to give back the NumbNut award, THANK GOD.
Think it should go to a no-show. Votes?
Great meeting a lot of new folks. Congrats to Barry, Pete's co, for putting on a clinic, getting more fish than everyone else combined!!! AND he got OddNut, getting the solo non-bass, a trout.
More reports to follow. Food was unbelievably great, thanks Mac for the good job bbq'ing it.

Let me put it this way, when I started to keep track of who took second, and then third, Tony said "there is no second place, there first, and all the rest of us come in LAST!"Jerry Chuang wrote:Are you saying Pete didn't kick everones butt out there?
Hopefully the guy doesn't own any guns, his wife should watch him closely tonight.

Very VERY Cool !!

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

Re: Otay M. wins big award at Perris Rally...
Yeah the high presure put a damper on the bite at Perris Saturday..
When Barry caught his 3rd keeper I told him he just won the event.. lol
We were fishing extremely slow basically dead sticking the baits.. He caught a trout as his 1st fish... then I caught a keeper bass then he caught one....then 2 hours later he caught another, then about an hour later he caught another...
4 fish in my boat total..so I was happy about that.
As it turned out there was only ONE other Bass caught...
Barry took top honors with 3 fish. Then a 17 1/2 incher got 2nd and my 16 1/2 incher got 3rd.. The rest were Blanks... I think there were like 11-12 guys or something like that , that decided to show up and brave the bitter cold....Thank god for the 100mph gear and the UnderArmor Base Layer 3.0...kept me warm all day..
It was a fun time though....Barry gets to pick the next lake we go to...He'll probably pick DVL or Perris again for an April event..
Nice job Barry..

Michael,
It was a fun event regardless. Cold as heck as my lady was the only female to brave it. She is a trooper. Kirk cooked a killer BBQ (Thanks Kirk) and it was nice to put some names to faces. Yeah Berry kicked butt in the back of Pete's boat, but no biggie, Pete rocked on. Gary didn't have his big motor, he stuck it out.....its all about the Nutcase, not who out fished who and from where. Give it a try next time.

Great event. Even though it was cold and fishing was tuff its still fun just to get out on the water. Thanks SMPboy for letting me fish on the boat and the people who put this together. ~Cheers

It was a great event despite the weather. I got lucky and got one, we found many fish but couldnt get them to go. Thanks to all of you that came out and Michael, Tony and westernbass for putting it together. tough Bite and weather but thats what seperates the die hards from the weekend anglers. Thanks again Guys. Scott

I want to thank everybody for a really good time. Mike and I threw trout baits 99% of the time. A really big first for me. I enjoyed being able to pick his brain, once he finally got there, on throwing the big baits. Thanks Mike, I really enjoyed learning something different. Mike

Mike Robinett takes a break from reeling in fish to get a mug shot!

Enjoying the good eats and fellowship.

Smelled so good even the State Park Rangers were drawn in!
My iPhone takes pretty cool shots huh?

I dunno, Tony made the motion to knight me with the honor, and I thought rightly so, so I seconded the motion.
Of course, that was BEFORE the facts came out, now I renig.
ASD, where are you in our group portrait? The rains came before I got to talk to everyone.
I'm the one in the dull red 100 MPH jacket in front. The obviouls one, the one not there at blastoff.
