For you guys that throw both the Waddas and Bobby D's, what are some of the differences (particularly the bulk of skirt & flair comparison) and how do you decide which one to throw?
Wadda's have a different hook angle than the Bobby'D. I feel that hook angle gives me better hook ups. They are both nice jigs though.gsc686s wrote:
Any feedback on the Waddas and Bobby D's how do the 2 of them compare.
Nice Jigs for sure. I have never had a problem with Mustad's. Did you do that logo on the Blackdog site Mike? I gotta place a order for that Mike's Craw. That color looks like it would bust em anywhere.Mike wrote:They all will have the Mustad hook from now on. The availability of the Gamakatsu hook was very inconsistent. We found ourself waiting for hooks often. The Mustad's are always available and IMO just as good. Thanks
Yes Jim, the Ultra Point has been used since the inception. The two biggest differences beween the Gammy hooks and the Mustad, is first and formost cost, in large bulks, the Mustad is almost 1/2 the cost and the Mustad hook is more rust resistant than the Gammies. That 60 degree Ultra Point jig hook has become a very popular hook with the hand tie guys over the past 4-5 years. BobbyD can expect the same thing with stock shortages with this hook from time to time. We've had to be very creative a couple of times searching the interent for inventory when our main supplier is out of them.jimbo007 wrote:The Wadda Jigs have been using Mustad Ultra Points for ever havnt they
