hey guys- just moved to the area from new england... never even seen a spotted bass. looking for good lakes with spots in southern cal to pop my cherry. livin in castaic and dont mind driving!!! any tips / suggestions?? thanks a bunch!!!

Try Naciamento, near Paso Robles. No shortage of spots in that lake. They have lodging on the lake to make it easy. http://www.nacimientoresort.com/ The resort is the only public launch on the lake.

If you want size over numbers, try Pine Flat.

I agree Nacimiento is a great spotted bass lake, try a drop shot. Plus San Antonio is 10 minutes away from there if you feel like fishing for large mouth and small mouth, although it can be pretty tough fishing there....good luck
