Any one throwing 20lb Seagaur fluro AbrasX on a curado 200e7 for flipping and pitching on the delta? If so how does that reel handle the 20lb diameter as far as casting and how much the spool will hold?
Thanks

Re: 20lb Fluro on a Curado 200e7
Wanna,
I use Seagaur top shot on most of my swimbait set ups, and have no issues with it. I typically use a Curado 300, and have never had a problem. In my recent trip to El Salto, I did spool up some braid to floro on my Curado 200, and had no issues. Tighten the drag and hold on.

With a big bait I can cast out the entire spool of 20lb on the 200e
Re: 20lb Fluro on a Curado 200e7
For flippin and pitching it is no issue. I have used Abrazx 20lb on football jigs, main line on C Rigs, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits...the 200e has enough capacity but if you use backing line decrease the amount. The specs are 110 yds of 14lb but the usually use mono, berkley big game mono is .015 diameter in 15lb, abrazx is .016 in 20lb fluro. So your 110 yards will be down to some but more than 100 yards...three hundred feet is alot of freakin line for the application you plan.

Good point Smitty I didn't realize that the fluro was thinner in general to mono or even the yo-zuri hybrid I have been using. You'r right my 20lb seaguar is just a tad thicker than my 15lb yo-zuri. That is awesome, know i feel much better about how the 200e will handle the 20lb fluro. Just curious but I heard that if kept in the right conditions fluro can last as long or longer than braid on a single spool if managed properly. Can fluro really last 1 or even 2 full fishing seasons like braid can?Smitty wrote:For flippin and pitching it is no issue. no prob. Go 20# all the way through, no backing. As for floro lasting, yes! Here's something you can do to extend use. When you have line with some use on it, just spool onto an empty reel and you now have fresh line on top.
I wouldn't suggest doing that for tournament reels, but fun fishing no problem. I even do the same with my braid.

I used the E7-201 last year for flippin and pitchin with 20lb maxima and no issues at all - I do about 1/4 of the reel with old10lb big game backing and spool the rest with the fluor - lasted me all summer. The ONLY issue with this reel is that it is very fast, pitches like a dream and picks up a lot of line with very little turns on the handle, great when you are really pitchin into every hole in terms of not losing time between pitches but the downside is that one can fish too quickly - so just remeber to use the rod tip when working that bait - but this reel just screams! Love itDanIsaac wrote:no prob. Go 20# all the way through, no backing. As for floro lasting, yes! Here's something you can do to extend use.
