Those with the boxes are the "treasures," even if the baits are used. Good for you. 8) Don't do anything in a hurry with that collection.

That tackle box is a prize in itself, Goerge K. is right, lures with the original boxes are most valuable, I would look into individual pricing as opposed to selling them as a set. For the most part I have seen pricing on antique lures for years and they always value lower than I would expect. I am no collector but a few select lures can bring big bucks, be patient and do research on what they are worth as a set as well and hold out for a good and fair price.
the best way to catch a big one is don't lose um sharp hooks set drag retie!

That box and it's contents are priceless. I would just pack them back into the box and stash them away. Open the box up once a in a while and enjoy them. That's a sweet little collection of baits.

I have been collecting and showing antique fishing tackle for 15 years or so and there is a good show March 11-12 at the Santa Rosa Veterans Bldg in Santa Rosa. Lots of buyers and appraisers will be there.

Those of us in this business use a web site called Joe's Old Lures ( the forum is where you can put up pictures or ask questions or sell for that matter.( all for free) We also have a group of 5000 plus members called the NFLCC ( National Fishing Lure Collectors Club) that has a lot of help available.

You might think about keeping your tackle box for a future investment. Most of the lures I could see in the picture are fairly common but might appreciate in future years. There is one you have that is called a Mercury Minnow. You might want to keep it away from the kids as it has a ball of mercury in it that can leak out if the lure is cracked.

You have a good start on a nice collection.

Hey Mike I have been buying and selling old lures since the early 90's The Heddon River Runts In Black Shore thats the Blacke with white stripes are worth some coin, the L & S are not worth much but a couple of bucks The Creek Chubs are worth about 10.00 bucks each flat fish aint worth nothing but a couple bucks,Mirrolure a few bucks etc.. I can tell you what they all are the best ones there are the Heddons
river runts. now if you had some old Heddon 100's or 150's glass eyes or some heddon Pumpkin seeds ,etc... You would have some lures That have held there value. Back in the early 90's I was picking these up for a couple bucks at garage sales and flea markets and making a GRIP on em but over the years ebay has KILLED the market its all about supply and demand and everyone pulled out grandpas tackile box and just flooded the market. I was selling Heddon 150's for 600 to 1500 a lure back in the 90's now you can buy em for 100-300 all day on ebay. I say list the whole box on ebay you might do good to get 150-200 bucks

There is a difference between vintage plastic lures and antique wooden lures with glass eyes. Most of the lures shown are 1950 or later plastic and not of high value. The lures in original boxes and the boxes increase the value and any rare lure that had limited production is worth more to collectors.
