RESTORE THE DELTA TOURNEY

Post by bassfisher »

Is restore the delta tournament still going on and why is no one advertising it if it is so important to attend the event? Im kind of confused because there is a Federation tournament on the same day. Anyone know what's going on with it, and I haven't researched it to much but there was alot of stuff being said about the poor showing last year, I was thinking about fishing it because i love the delta, but im confused why the Federation would have a tourney the same day???

Yes. The Restore the Delta / CSPA Benefit Tournament is on for April 3rd, 2011. Thank you for the heads up. There was a sticky post, last I checked. We will make sure to re-post the tournament. Here is a link to the sign up. http://restorethedelta.org/?page_id=751

This will be a very cool event with kickboaters, fly fishermen, and bass fishermen. The raffle and bbq will not disappoint. We have no problem with people that have a prior commitment. The purpose of this event will be to learn about the ecosystem, the people, and the valuable water that flows through the Delta. Our fish need water. All fish need water. There is no bass vs. salmon vs. smelt vs. stripers vs. Sacramento Perch debate being entertained! All fishermen must join together to establish a minimum amount of water flowing through the Delta (and out the Golden Gate Bridge) to keep the ecosystem alive.

A bass tournament is a great opportunity to have some fun and learn about the issue. We invite everybody to participate. Our heavyweight sponsors include (but are not limited to): BlackDog Baits, Snag Proof, Mel Cotton's, Fly Fishing Legend Dan Blanton, Pure Fishing, Falcon Rods, Bass-n-Tubes, Mojo Plastics, Don Iovino, Gamakatsu, The Fly Shop, Simms, Fumi Inc, SBBBC, Randy Pringle, and Hi's Tackle Box. Cooch and Bobby Barrack have donated countless hours to this cause and deserve some recognition.

To those with a prior commitment: both Restore the Delta and the California Sport Fishing Protection Alliance are accepting donations. As little as $10 will make a difference.

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAUSE, PLEASE VISIT THESE WEBSITES:
