That guy doesnt know what he's talking about, and I think its pretty chickensh%# of him to post that since he's selling the same motor on here. Stick to your guns I sold that same motor with a blown head for 3 grand.

its funn when people think they know what they are talking about i have proff. just call Mercury and ask if they had problems with 99-200 optimax and for the record i own a repair shop and also im not selling a 225 opti im looking for a 250 xs for one of my many boats. I was just looking to help not flame.

So what's the LU worth on that motor? How about midsection, compressor, VST, ECM, etc.? Once updated, the early Optis were just fine, and I'd say the motor as a total package is worth considerably more than $1K.
