I just installed a new to me 27 on the front and 37 at console. Relatively painless event. All hooked up and sonar works. I have both LGC 2000 and 3000 pucks. I tried both and they both come up not responding. I did pull the boat out of the garage to see the sky. I must be missing something? Help!! Connections are all good. Got any ideas? I tried to move cursor to my location to make it easy to find sattelites, no luck.
Thanks
Scott

Re: GPS Module not responding?
The first thing to check is the power to the NMEA backbone. This is how the GPS antenna gets power to operate. ONLY ONE OF THE NMEA POWER AND GROUND CABLES ARE TO BE CONNECTED. This is one of the three wires in the power cables. The heavy wire is the power to the head unit, the one with the chrome tag that says NMEA is the power to the backbone. Connect the hot and ground on ONLY ONE OF THE POWER CORDS and the antenna will have power. You can damage antennas and head units if both NMEA wires are connected. This is assuming that both units are connected via a NMEA backbone. Then both units can use one antenna.
