I had been told before not to mix oil ... so unless you're completely flushed the old oil in your tank, do not put a gallon of this stuff in it. Better safe than sorry ...

Opti oil is a synthetic blended oil and will not mix with regular 2 stroke non synthetic oil. Hollywood says it right on, nope! Also as stated, if you want to use regular 2 stroke oil and you are using Opti oil right now you have to run all that Opti oil out of your system and tank before you can use your 2 stoke stuff. I personally would sell it or give it to someone who uses regular 2 stroke oil and stick with your Opti oil. Just my 2 cents on it.

Ron, just take it to your local Merc dealer and exchange it for Opti oil - It will cost you a few extra bucks but it's peace of mind if you're worried about it. If it was me, I'd use it.

If you're motor is still under warranty, don't use it. Swap it out like Kevin said.
The best way to get the answer you're looking for is to ask whoever services your motor.
Or a mechanic at a dealer who sells Mercs.

Opti Max or DFI oils are manufactured just for that Direct Injection. The Opti Max oil is not meant to be mixed with gas and visa versa. All oils are not the same. Burn Opti Max in your Opti Max always and you will not be sorry.
