Lost my temp reading on my hds units

Post by brambo0311 »

I upgraded to 4.0 and I think my settings are all messed up. Anyway can someone walk me through how to select what sensor my temp Gage is reading? I get into the configuration for data overlay, but the graph won't let me select my lss1, or anything. Front graph I just want to read from the puck, but it won't let me do that either.

Other issue is my Lss1 isn't very clear anymore. Something got changed I guess.

Part of the 4.0 update is the units ability to use the temp sensor on the Structure Scan transducer or the one on the Broadband Sonar ducer.

To set the temp on an HDS unit to use the sensor that is plugged into that unit, hit menu twice, go to Network, hit enter, go to Data Sources, hit enter, go to Sonar, hit enter. Go down to Water Temperature and hit Menu. Now go to Scope and change it from Global to Local.

Global means the unit will search the whole boat for a temp sensor. When you change the setting to Local then the unit will only search the items that is plugged into the back of it to search for a temp sensor. I assume you have a transducer that has a temp sensor in it like a PDT/WBL. The T means there is a temp sensor molded into the ducer.

Hi Ken,
Sent you a PM. And I did the steps as outlined and switched it back to local but it still doesn't register. Out of the water it still should read ambient temp, shouldn't it? Is the sensor itself damaged?
Thanks
Steve
