Prop repair advice

Post by Riplip »

Bumped something pretty good fishing with the boys on father's day. Slight damage to all four blades. Should I send it to Phils or use some one local? If I do send it, what is the best method of shipping? I live in the east bay. Thanks.

I've sent mine to Phils.
Used them twice now and satisfied both times with no regrets.
I honestly don't know of anyone locally in San Jose.

I found a box that fit my prop and went to a local mall that had UPS store and shipping.
You may have one locally near you as well.

Otherwise you can always use the post office.

It takes a 2 - 3 weeks to get it back at least when I've done it.
I have a back up prop so this is never a problem.

hope this helps.

Send it to Phils for prop repairs and have a mechanic look at your lower unit for any internal damage - if you banged something hard enough to chew up the blades chances are you could have banged up the drive shaft or seals - best to play it safe and have someone check out the LU before it grenades on you!

Prop repair advice

I’ve had work at TRU-Pitch here in Sacramento from time to time and their work has been as good as I’ve seen. Give Gary a call to see if he can help you. 916-332-4429
