Today, we’ll celebrate Independence Day, this year marks the 235th anniversary of the birth of our nation. Americans at home and abroad will gather for cookouts, parades, and fireworks. Old Glory will proudly wave over our military bases and our homes. Everywhere Americans are celebrating, and remembering.

Beyond these annual traditions, July the 4th is the day we remind ourselves of how fortunate we are to live in freedom – and how that freedom was won. It’s a day to pay tribute to all those who have fought for and continue to defend our way of life, through their service, their commitment, and in far too many instances – their ultimate sacrifice.

I’m proud that the Bassin’ community embrace our founding Father’s strong values and principles, and prouder still that you embody them every day and continue to make our nation “America the workshop of liberty,” as James Madison envisioned.

I wish you and your loved ones a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Actually it (The Declaration) was signed on the 2nd of July and ratified on the 4th  , But really who cares ! one is just as good as the other to celebrate our Nations Independence, The Sacrifice of countless others who stood up against tyranny and oppression.

And to munch on hot dogs and potato salad and watch a parade or two followed up with some fireworks and homemade Apple pie and ice cream.

God Bless You and All 8)
