Bass fishing in Yuba Co.
I am going to be vacationing near Downieville in a few weeks. I would like to do some bass fishing while I am in the area. I know very little about Bullards Bar/Collins/Scotts Flat/Englebright lakes. Can somebody tell me which lake/lakes would be my best option? I will be renting a boat so that limits my choices to the lakes I have mentioned. I have heard great things about Bullards Bar but they no longer rent fishing boats so that complicates things. Also, what baits should I bring? I assume D/S, darterheads, Senkos, etc. What about reaction baits (blades, square bills, Skinny Dippers)? Swimbaits? Any particular colors? I hope somebody will take the time to give me some help. I will appreciate any replies I get. You can respond or PM. Thanks.
Re: Bass fishing in Yuba Co.
you can rent a boat at collins. collins is a privately owned weekly stocked lake ..... easy trout fishing , descent bass fishing lake.
scotts flat is a great lake. good small mouth lake... got good largies too. both of these are smaller lakes.
bullards is a class of its own. our last club tourney there, it took over 20# to get a check. 25.96 won it.
oroville is not to far away too. lots of #s there big lake.
all of these lakes, you will have success with dart heads, dropshot, cranks, sencos,ect.. its all about thowing the sink at em right now. i would stick to oxblood, but any greens, and shad colors will produce right now. hope this helps you.
i will be at scotts flat this weekend. ill give you some better info when i get back.
