Not much of a report , but...
Went fishing with my boys on Memorial day from the shore at Santa Ana ramp. Instinct told me to take my shad stuff ..i.e Net, ice cooler, aerator....And guess what..Shad at the docks! Got a scoop, let the kids scoop 'em up and set up. Saw guys catching 2 -4 pounders so I thought this might be good. Threw to the shady side of dock and saw the flash of a fatty. Swtched to the sunny side and the bait went under the dock and fish on! 6 pound Vanish line, Mosquito hook, and small split shot. This fish fought really good and hard and peeled off line and took off under the other docks,but the 6 pnd. held with drag set perfect. Got her up and was rewarded with a 7 pound spawned out female.
