Hopefully we can agree to disagree, but I couldn't feel more the opposite.

There are plenty of other places for guys to fish aside from their own tournament circuits. There's no reason to create a potential or perceived conflict of interest. That's just bad for business.

I'd prefer to see the lines less blurred. If you wanna fish tournaments I don't think you should be running them at the same time. Not unless you compete with another organization.

But then that's just me.

I just don’t see the conflict.
However, give competitors a reason to complain about something and you always will find those who will jump on it. Many anglers want a five fish limit, many want seven, some want an off limits and some are passionately against it, we can't even agree with the use of a rod over 8' because it's considered an unfair advantage to some. If there is one thing I have learned, it’s if you ask a question of ten anglers you will get ten different answers and opinions, it’s always been that way and will always be, you can’t please everyone.

Could the same reservations be raised of the National Guardsmen participating in the FLW?
I had no problem fishing the FLW Western Series despite the fact there were anglers representing the title sponsor competing against me, but I’m sure some anglers did.
Now if there was any type of judging or subjective officiating involved I would have to agree, but when you put an angler on a body of water to catch five fish for the highest combined weight is pretty cut and dry, no matter who that angler is. Tournament bass fishing is pure and objective, no scoring, no judging and that’s the beauty of our sport.

It's ironic, if you voice your concerns on a public forum about any given tournament organization you are told "if you don't like it, start your own circuit" and if you do, now you're told you shouldn't fish it! :?

I really like the CBC format, low entry fee with a chance to take 10K. Plus I like not worrying about a back seat. As for you fishing it Gary, come on and bring it. You are ten or should I say hundred times the angler that I am and any given Sunday as the saying goes. One last thought – I did not even know that you were part owner and most don’t either.

Reminds me of the old Norelco razor commercial. "I loved it so much I bought the company."

But in this case it's "I wanted to fish it so much I sold my stake in the company." lol

Gary, Dude, get back to building rods so some of the rest of these poor folks have a chance to win.

Good to hear you will be fishing more Gary. Personally I prefer that any angler that pays is allowed to fish. Second Id love to have more free time so I could fish more tournaments. I have enough time to commit to one circuit, I choose teams because I enjoy fishing and hanging out with my friends. One is my partner and several others fish against us. I do cherry pick some from time to time, but I never really know when till the last minute. Again its really to have fun fishing with friends. Im working on a career change so I can have more free time down the road. CBC is one Id like to add into the mix when that time comes.

Thanks to Gary and Jeff for giving of your time to help this great sport. Ive never had the pleasure of drawing either of you, but I hope to some day.(I do get to a couple Pro?Ams each year)
