Getting inside ur competiton's head 4 this weekend

Post by backseatfishergirl »

Everyone says it...the writers write about it... and the fishermen know it...

tournaments are a mental game...

One guy started early and gave me a pic of the frog fish he got in practice for Snag Proof this Saturday. He wanted me to post it, so he could get ahead start on crushing his competition. Like Dee said, "beat 'em before you leave the dock"

If anyone else would like to text a pic of theirs, send it over...no details needed...locations and colors on the down low unless you can see the color in the pic.

Will get 'em up Friday before the tournament so the competition can start sweatin'.

I know, I know ... some guys are too covert to show what they're on and some guys aren't stickin' fish this close, so it may be too late; but lots of guys can't resist to see how big it is and if they got 'em this week and they were good, they're still on plenty of cell phones. We'll see what happens.

I can't show the few small ones I got on my new Ish frog tonight (nothing over 5), but the real story is the one I got on the new 8" Punker at dark on Franks. I think it was a good 11 lbs., as she jumped once by the boat, but as she started to land in the water it was intercepted by a darn sea lion. Guess the monster did not notice the punker in her face and I hooked him too now. Luckily my 80# test held as it was buttoned down, but the boat started to get pulled across the tract. I had the new aluminum boat I'd just purchased hours earlier, and it is very light (no decks yet, small 15hp four stroke) and I just held on for the ride of my life. By the time we got to the bay bridge I'd had enough and just pulled the braid with my hand and broke it off. Lost the Punker, the 11 pounder and a nice size sea lion. If you find my Punker I'll give you a reward.

I still need a boater that needs a backseater for the Snag Proof. If you are interested, let me know. I can toss the frog, and write OK stories too.

All I need to get into the money would be the four I usually get along with a 20# kicker.

At least you didn't lose your boat too. Did you happen to get a pic of the sea lion draggin you out towards the Bay ...that is a good story.

BTW...a 5 lb'r is lookin quite good from the stories/pix that I have heard/seen.

LMAO Thats the funniest @#$% ever !!! I would have paid to see that I bet that alum. boat was letting off a big wake!!!! :D :D :D Im curious how fast was you goin LOL . We get them sea lions down here on the south end of the river all the time the wife is afraid of em, we had one just last week in old river surface and blow right by the boat I never seen my ol lady move so quick she was on the front deck FAST!!! LOL Man that sucks you lost the fish, you can always buy another punker but an 11lb'der dont come very often.

Jody so your sayin a 5 is a good fish on a frog right now? Thanks

I know guys sticking toads punchin mats right now, my buddy stuck a 9 lb'der yesterday on the punch .But the frog fish have not been all that big from what I am hearing also, if we can keep em in the 3-4 lb range heck I might have a chance LMAO

I have seen bigger/more punchin fish, but its been windy. The best frog fish was that one that got texted to me right before the Ish seminar. The one I showed you. Other than that fish, I haven't seen/heard anything over five. But, I just got another text so let me go check.....

Yeah I fished rock south of Mildred and mouth of turner cut and caught like 12 off of strike king jigs in the Texas craw color but the crappy part was that I must of busted off like 4 or 5 jigs in the rocks. The bigger bites where on the outside grasslines
