Punchin bait Trailers
There's been a bit of controversy over who makes the best designed bait and colors for flippin' and Punchin'. My go-to bait anywhere is always a Reac. Innov. Sweetbeaver and I really don't feel the need to change. Just curious to see any pros or cons to switching things up. Never afraid of change, but why change when it rarely fails and there's so much confidence in that bait. Thanks to all.

Nothing wrong with the Beaver bait - except for punching there are some clever modifications - the Double wide is a good punch bait - I really like teh DM Cover Craw and Punch bait, and thier 4.5" bait, along with the Berkley Havoc for a smaller profile bait, or trigger craw for an even smaller profile bait - the Yamamoto Creature punches well when punched skirt side down - The deal is that after a while, certain baits are rigged teh same way and have the same action when falling - changing it up gives a different look - why go to a beaver knock off if the beaver is your confidence? But the Cover Craw is a whole different profile and slab of plastic so the fall is different - just my .02

Re: Punchin bait Trailers
R.I. Beaver was the first and will always be a good bait. I have a ton of them and I use them for a lot of other applications besides a jig trailer or punch bait.
The new bait I really like for punching is the Berkeley Havoc Pit Boss. It's actually really different from the Beaver. It's got something about it that is just awesome in the water and the appendages are positioned perfectly for heavy flippin or punchin.

We appreciate your kind words about our plastics. We were also great fans of the sweet beaver and the paca chunk.
But there is always a way to make a better bait cheaper, this is just what berkley havoc has done. Price is right, they work great and in this tuff economy . WOW!!

Really appreciate everybody's input. I've fished the Havoc and it is a sweet bait. Has a slightly different action and feel to the bait against the Beaver. The double wide is the way to go for punchin. I've found with the regular size beaver to rig it weightless backwards for a shallow water, subtle approach and it kills 'em. Thanks again to all.
