I was just up at CL for the Bobs marine tourny, one thing I have a problem with is fish in the livewell burp up lots of crawdad parts & other asst. crap that plugs up the intake to my hydroair system! I constanly have to unscrew the srainer and clean it!,I added a seperate 12v airator pump that helps a lot! I know some guys even have a O2 bottle plumbed to their livewell,it also helps to leave the airator on constant, add non clorinated ice, rejuvinade, catch & release formulas also keep checking your fish !,on a hot day,if your airator pump quits, you can lose your whole bag possibly !....

I agree. I just changed to the "Oxygenator" system and used it for the first time this weekend. It did a great job with my fish.

Use a wet white towel to cover the tops of your live wells. Hit them with Please Release Me or Catch and Release chemicals a couple times during the day to relax the fish and cut their stress and O2 requirements. Run the live wells on Medium. timer all day. If you go into shallow warm bays or areas where the surface aldae is real bad place them on recirculate. Check your fish frequently and be ready to reduce the air bladders of any deep caught fish. Follow these and you chances for 5 healthy fish at the end of the day go way up.

There are also a lot of fish caught on trebble hooks right now which leads to increased chance of gill damage. If you have one that is bleeding add chemicals when you put him in the well. Do not use Rejuvinade as it seems to have speed for fish instead of a calming agent.
