35-40 inch salmon on crankbait

Post by kraetzer »

I found out this weekend that the KVD 1.5 doesn't only catch bass  Had a big salmon just crush it. Took me for a nice ride with my lamiglass cranking rod and 10lb mono
Wanted to thank the guys in the other boat that stopped and helped me net this toad. Felt bad after they told me that they had to leave because they were actually fishing a tournament.
Thanks again,
kraetzer

Had one on this weekend too! It was to big to fit in my bass net, after she flopped out of the net I tried to hand land her...didn't work out so well and she came unpinned at the boat after a really fun battle.

I hooked into one last year while striper fishing using a darter head jig and a super flook I never got to see him he almost spooled me and busted me off when I got him near the boat. 12 pound floro I didn't think I was gonna get em anyways.

I miss catching salmon down town on Rat-Traps. Just remember now it is illegal to keep salmon caught in this side of the delta. :?

There is a very good run of Salmon hitting the Delta this fall. Do be aware, if ya catch one on the San Jaquine River side, regulations stipulate ya gotta turn it loose, catch one on the Sacto River side, ya can keep em!
