Won Bass Western Classic Results!

Guys,

I wanted to put up the short version of the results, as the file has just been sent over to the website and should be up soon at www.wonbass.com

Congratulations to Second time Western Classic winner Darrin Bishop. Darrin took home more than 6K in winnings as well as the 1st Place Nitro Z7/Mercury Motor Package, as well as Big Fish honors winning the Big Fish Option and and earning himself the $2250 Lowrance Closest to 5 lbs option with a 4.89 lb catch.

On the AAA Side Co angler Tom DiGiulio walked with the top honors out of the 40 AAA's that made it to the Western Classic. He took home over 3K in options and reserve as well as the Nitro Z6 Mercury boat package for first place.

Mike Folkestad wins Pro AOY and earned the Daiwa $5000 Angle of the Year Award
Chris Mason won the AAA AOY award and earned free entries into the 2012 season

John Morrow won the South AOY
Tami Curtis is the first woman to win any AOY position as AOY of the South on the AAA side - Free entries South

Mike Folkestad won AOY of the North Pro's
Dave Nelson won AOY for the North AAA's - Free entries North

More information and full payouts will be posted very soon on Won Bass as soon as possible!

Congratulations to Darrin Bishop and Tom DiGiulio on each of their wins it was well earned.
I would have liked to have stayed for the awards presentation but I had a 4 hour drive home and had to be up at 4:30am this morning for work. Another great tournament put on by WON...I am looking forward to fishing the new season starting next month.

great story and great job getting the results up so fast yesterday for us guys following our buddies at home... When will the payouts be posted to see?

I just wanted to thank Billy Egan, Bill Cook and the rest of his crew for putting on a great event this past weekend. It's truly an honor to beat such a talented field. Congratulations to Mike Folkestead for another Diawa cup, that guy is unbelievable. Thanks to my fantastic AAA's Greg Claiborne and Stephen Watte for putting multiple fish into the bag each day and more importantly for genuinely great guys. Sorry for the bear hug Stephen, but a 4.89 at Nacimiento is pretty rare.

Congratulations to the winner Darrin Bishop it was well deserved. Also congrats to co angler winner Tom DiGiulio, and congrats to John Morrow southern angler of the year and Tami Curtis southern co angler of the year, the only lady to achieve this award - great job! Congrats to Dave Nelson northern co angler of the year and Chris Mason for the overall angler of the year.

To the fisherman that were unable to make the western classic you missed a great tournament with a large cash payout and lots of prizes. You better make plans to not miss the 2012 Western Classic at Clear Lake...it will be bigger and better than ever!

The coverage of the tournament was good too.
When top guys sticks like Mike and Darrin say great things about a tournament and the staff it means something to me. Good job WON BASS!

Darrin Bishop also won the Lowrance HDS5 Closest to 5lb Reserve money with his 4.89 largie, earning him an additional $2,250.00. In total winnings that comes to $9,450.00 in cash plus the Nitro Z7/Mercury boat package for Darrin Bishop at a free entry Western Classic Championship! All in all he took home over $30,000.00 in prizes and cash!

Lets not forget about Mike Folkestad's AOY award from Daiwa Corp., which earned him the $5000.00 AOY Daiwa Cup. Each AOY also will receive a Reactor Watch and pair of Costa Sun Glasses!

WON Bass thank you for providing the opportunity for anglers to fish and achieve! It takes a lot of time, money and effort, and teamwork to pull off a tournament. It was very well run, and you handled everything with class!

Congrats to Darrin Bishop and Tom DiGiulio. Great job champions! That rocks that you both won boats!

Also congrats to Mike Folkestad, John Morrow, Chris Mason, and Dave Nelson for the AOYs! Great job guys!
