Need Plans To Convert 14' Alum To BASS RIG,Were?

Post by Guy Kelley »

Hi,
I have a 14' Alum Gregor with a Evinrude tiller 15 h.p. that Is just sitting there on it's trailer. I would like to convert it to a Bass Boat Style.
I have used it in the past as one but not really with the right set up. Just a couple of shorty pole seats and stern trolling motor.

I have a New Bow Mount 12v, 50 pd. Motor Guide w Gator Mount.
Lowrance 75 & 95 front and rear finders and a few other odds and ends for her.

Would like to put in Stand up butt seat up front and at least some sort of semi-raised seat in back.
Live Well and recirculating system ?
Battery Charging system
Lighting to make legal and safe
Flooring & Carpet
and any other goodies she should have to make her nice, comfortable and safe for two on the Delta or Lake ! Maybe used as small boat for Future Pro or ?

I have seen examples of boats in past, but never any type of plans that I could follow or use as a guide !

Dose any one here know were I could find pictures or plans or ????????? :?:

Would like to do it right, so she finds her way into someones future hands to be appreciated and used ! That once to fish but doesn't have a lot of money to invest in a boat. 8)

Thanks a Bunch.

Be sure and get yourself some good 3/4" plywood, use double coat of varnish to seal it up. Your can glue a small piece of plywood under where you will be mounting seat post. This will help with mounting seats.

I traded art for one a few years back, but it doesn't have flooring, only front and back platforms. I'm glad it doesn't too, it would weight too much and not go as fast. Of course, someone stole my 25 a couple of years back, and the 15 I finally got last fall does not push her around as fast, but beats a trolling motor only. Of course, that's why the past two years I just bummed rides out instead of even bothering- with Cooch (still got your Venice image buddy- drop it off March), Marty, D-man, and other nutcases nice enough to offer, which was a lot of fun.

Sure saves on gas taking a small boat from San Diego up to Clearlake or the Delta too, compared to my old Skeeter. When towing, basically don't even know the aluminum one is back there. Fish don't mind much eating my bait from either one I cast from either.

All I need to get into the money would be the four I usually get along with a 20# kicker.

About a year ago there was a great post about fixing up aluminum boats. There is also a aluminum boat forum were guys post all there projects from start to finish. Pm Deltabassbuster. He has a pretty slick valco that he customised himself. Im pretty sure he can point you in the right direction and also give the name of that forum.

I am not sure if they are still around but there used to be a tin boat club out of Modesto. 14/25 club or something like that. Those guys may be of some help/suggestions.
