Delta Cat fish

Post by WackySenko »

I only fish for black bass and practice catch and release. But I have a friend that wants to go fishing with me. I know that he will want to take home a fish or two, and he likes cat fish. Anybody have willing to share any info. I plan to introduce him to bass fishing and would like to send him home with some cat fish to eat.
Thank you

Why not let him take home one or two cookie cutters to begin with? Introduce him to bass fishing and educate him on the importance of catch and release and how selective harvesting of the more plentiful year classes actually enhances our bass fisheries.

For catfish try fourteen mile or disapointment with clams or chicken livers.

I use cut anchovies at Holland marina, right beneath the docks during incoming tide for small fry size catfish (about 1lb). Sometimes I'd catch 2lbers. Just tie your boat up and sit there for a few hours. If you get bored doing that, go bass fishing around the various islands you'll find there.

Thank you for the info. I will take him bass fishing and then head over to Holland and relax while we try to get him some cats.
