For short trips where we dont harvest a ton, they come home with me to fertilize my garden, and for trips with 100+ fish, I take them to a few vineyards that use them for fertilizer as well
FOUNDER - California Motherlode Bowfishing Association
If you enjoy bowfishing in the Delta, there is a spot you need to go to. Its where old river and the San Joaquin river meet just downstream of Mossdale. There is a rock barrier there, and I have never seen such an assemblage of carp in my life. Many are absolutely huge and they are in every color you can possibly imagine. Heres the thing, they are on the west side of the barrier so you would have to launch accordingly, and there is a buoy line that you will have to go under. The guard may or may not tell you that you cant do that. There are thousands nosed right up to the barrier doing their thing. I am almost positive a few I watched were pushing your magic 40 pound mark.
