Top water fishin was tough on the River today. Only had 6 weights over 10 pounds on the pro side, winners had 14+ and took home over $4K. Only took 7.8? to get a check. On the Am side, one sack over 10 pounds took home over $2K and took 6.66 to get check, way ta go Lucas! Big fish of the event was an 8.53 caught by the winners second big fsh was also over 8 pounds and on the pro side.

All in all another great event put on by Snag Proof and a big thanks goes out to Connie & Harry for bringing this event back out California for us ta have some fun with. California did frog fishin proud with over 190 teams(almost equal pro & am team entrants) participating in this event. Yesterday, on Guntersville, Alababma, as well as last weekend on Sam Rayburn, Texas the draw was far less than 100 boats for each event. A big here, here goes out to the California anglers who showed up today and participated in this the 4th annual Snag Proof Open. We had great support from a number of sponsors donating special prizes given away at the event, the greta BBQ on Saturday as well as a smashing perormance by Lin Vincie and the "Beer Nuts"! What a kick *** band! And if you were not there, ya missed a great appearance by the No Sweat "MISTY" girls who drove the anglers in the golf carts with their fish back to the BBAC release boat. A big thanks goes to Lindsey, Ashley, Kelsey and Alexis! WOW, what a team ya got their Seigy!

For the most part, this years event was a great show and most everyone had a great time. I know I did working with Bobby Barrack and Gene Bucholtz on the stage through the entire weigh-in. And what can ya say about Russo's, what a great place for an event like this. Once again, a big thanks goes out to Connie and Harry for bringing us yet another great specialty event to our area! See ya next year!
