question for guides
question for guides
Hey guys I was curious to if you need a license if you want
to just gift a stranger a fishing day? I have wanted for a long
time now to get some friends together and make ourselves
available to returning troops for a day of fishing. Supply the
boat rods and reels. Do you have to be licensed to do this?
Thanks.

You aren't doing
it for profit, so I would say no..But then again I am not a guide..

Re: question for guides
If you are not charging a fee and arent running a true guide service, no license required!!! Its basically the same thing as just taking a buddy out on the water for a day.

Re: question for guides
Some of the guys on the fishsniffer board have been doing this.
Maybe you can get some ideas from their thread.

Hey Mike,
If you can get in touch with the various MWR people at the local military bases, they should be able to help you..In the Navy and I think the Marine Corps also the Morale, Welfare and Recreation comes under Special Services..If you were to contact the various Special Services Officers at the various Naval Stations you should be able to get all the support and assistance you need..

Re: question for guides
Maybe taking them fishing from a row boat or the bank might get them home sooner. Vote for a different President or enlisting yourself would really help them come home sooner. But filling up our gas guzzling trucks and boats will just keep them there longer. I know I'm gonna get pummeled for this post but think about it. Gas costs more than milk. Whoa.
