AC-WRL Delta Wine This weekend 8-12-12

The U.S. Anglers Choice Western Rookie League Delta Wine Trail will finish out the season this Sunday, August 12th at Russo’s Marina on the California Delta . At stake are the Angler of the Year title and Travelers Region title. TOC qualifiers will be announced on the WRL website the following week and will receive their TOC letters in the mail shortly thereafter.

The August 12th WRL Delta Wine event will be conducted by WRL Motherlode Director Danny Peluso and our new WRL Delta Wine Director Ador Lopez. Danny Peluso can be reached at (209) 535-8192 and Ador Lopez at (916) 801-4532 for event related questions.

Trophies will be awarded for first through third place teams and the big fish of the event will also receive a plaque. Any anglers who may have missed picking up their plaques at previous events will also be able to pick them up at this tournament.

Western Rookie League events are geared towards the beginning skill level angler. Your basic entry fee of $100 includes a big fish pool. Options, which are paid back 100% include a $10, $20, and $30 option. The depth these options pay down is a function of how many teams enter the option pools. Teams will be able to accrue points during the course of the season to qualify for the year end Team Championships event at Lake Oroville on October 6-7th, 2012. The 2011 WRL Championships held at Clear Lake awarded over $65,000 in cash and prizes to our participants.

Sign ups the morning of the event will be done at the Russo’s Marina office on Bethel Island starting around 4:00 AM.

If you sign up at Russo Sunday am there will be a $10.00 late fee. You can sign up at Delta outdoors Saturday 8/11 between 3PM to 7PM to avoid late fee.
