Exchanging LCX 26C HD with LCX 28C HD

Post by John Gallagher »

Ken I have a Lowrance LCX 25c on the bow and LCX 26c HD on the console. My question is if the wiring the same if I upgrade to later models LCX 28c HD on the bow and a LCX 113 HD on the console. Can I just buy head units only and plug in to the same 3 wiring contections or do I have to get all new wiring connections for the later model LCX 28 HD and LCX 113 HD.

Still saving for the new HDS Touch.

Thanks in advance,

John

All wiring and cable connections are the same. They can be changed and matched any way you would like. The transducers for these units are the same ones used for the HDS units also.

Ken I received the LCX 28C HD and attempted to plug it in but the network cable from my LCX 26 (Blue net work plug) wont plug in to the (red network plug) on the new to me LCX 28. So I dont have any GPS. The power and sonar all blue plugs worked great. Once I get this lowrance system working I need to schedule a guided Lowrance and fishing day on Naci with you.

Thanks

Sorry, I forgot about the network plug change between those two models. You will need a blue to black converter cable to connect the NMEA network. You currently have a blue NMEA network in the boat and at first Lowrance changed the plugs to be more compatible with all NMEA devices. You will find the plugs are black now. These are the same as the original red plugs that were supplied when the change first took effect. Red/Black are the same.
