CHARITY EVENT- Lake Irvine Th. Night Sept. 15, 05 -Who's In?

Late Launches for those who can't get off work early enough!

I will set it up with the lake...

We NEED 1 guy in charge of some trophies... Nothing major..
and we need 1 guy in charge of the money.. Donating it etc...

We NEED 1 guy in charge of making the donation... ALL MONEY goes to the American Red Cross.

Here are the rules:
1. No live bait
2. As many angler's per boat as you want (Must have same # of Life Jackets) (only 2 trophies for the winning boat)
3. All boats must have a working livewell
4. Tournament hours.. (From gate entry until 9:30)
5. Last boat out runs the launch.
6. 5 Fish per boat.
7. Minimum Fish length 12 inches
8. 5 Mph max on the lake for the duration of the event.
9. All dead fish .5 pound penalty.
10. Late boats DQ'd (we'll sound a horn at 9:15 so everone knows they have 15 minutes left.

More than 30 boats and we will have 2 flights (9:15PM, 9:30PM)

If we make it $100 per boat plus the launch (Irvine said they will work with us on the gate fee) No licenses required there... We get 100 boats thats $10,000 30 boats would be 3,000 which is better than 0. (I think if we make it $100 bucks we can double the number of boats we get)

Also, if everyone gets a tackle shop or a boat dealer or product manufacturer or business of any kind to donate something or even cash for the event... I will cover it for Basswest magazine and mention all sponsors in the article.

And it would be fun!

NOTES: If we don't get enough responses we will cancel the event. Lets shoot for 30 boats at a minimum.

Nevermind...for some reason I thought it was this Thursday.

I should be leaving for Clear Lake on the 14th

if the current schedule holds.

If a boater wants to do this but needs a little help. I will put up half the donation fee ($65) for you since I can't attend. I am sure somebody will step up to be a non-boater and cover the other half.

Be there between 3:30 and4 p.m.
We launch at 4:15 and go at 4:30
We end at 9:15 weigh in
Raffle after weigh in while totals are tallied
Raffle tickets for sale before launch and during weigh in when the first raffle # is called no more tickets for sale.

First off thank you for all the support from everone.
Ok now for an up date:
I have recieved 5 phone calls last night of boats confirming to fish and I also went to S.O.C.B. meeting last night and passed out fliers on the tournament and I hope that at least 2 of there boats show up.I also sent out e mails to as many clubs as I could do in the short time I had.

So far we have about 10 boats, lets get this to at least 30!! If we get it to 30 we will make a decent amount of money for this great cause....

Dave Strege is way cool. He is one of the few writers who is genuine. I have fished with him many times, and each trip always ends up great. Have you seen his book that just came out ? Celebrity Fish Talk. It is way cool. He interviewed alot of famous people and got their fishing stories too. Take a look at it.

Im not sure its going to be a last minute Yes or No, either way im going to donate to Red Cross next week so it is a (win win) for the
poor people of Katrina. It is a great thing you guys are doing!!! Its not about the prizes, its not about the competition, its about helping these people!! Bottom line............
I feel a little guilty, i wake up with a roof over my head, drink my coffee, watch TV, then take my new boat and new truck over to MV launch and fish all day.......These people have NOTHING right now!! I feel blessed to have just taken a client fishing from New Orleans last month, i hope he and his family are alright?? I havent heard? He was a very nice guy with dreams of quitting his job and fishing pro someday. Lets get them back on there feet, if you guys cant make the tourney DONATE!!!

I just got an e mail about donating product and Hastings Rod's is going to donate a rod and also Osprey Swim Baits is going to donate a couple of swimbaits for the raffle.

I got a box of baits from Derrick Patch last night and Just glanced inside.I saw Revenge Buzzbaits,zoom products,assalt products and some reel covers. Also some robo worms and some flastrix baits.

I recieved today 2 Crucial rods from Shimano both spinng and both the new models.
I also recieved 2 spools of Sunline today 1 is Shooter Fluorocarbon
The other is Defier a 100% nylon..... which is very easy to cast and also does not have a lot of memory.I use it for cranking and also for throwing jerkbaits and just love how easy it casts and also how strong it is considering the diamater if it.
I hope some of you can make it as we are going to have a great time and give away some really great stuff.There might even be a suprise or 2 for the raffle we will just have to wait and see.......
